PANGKALPINANG -- Supporting the improvement of the quality of human resources in the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands, PT Timah Tbk again distributed tuition assistance to Wawan Irawan to continue his undergraduate studies at Pyumem University in Russia.
Wawan is a resident of Arung Dalam Village, Central Bangka Regency. He received an educational scholarship in Russia after completing his undergraduate education at the University of Bangka Belitung (UBB).
He said that he lacked the funds to continue his studies, especially the cost of accommodation. As for his education, he has received a scholarship.
"The scholarships are not full, only tuition fees for three years and language course fees. For this reason, PT Timah Tbk is asking for support, one of which is for departure costs," he said after receiving the assistance.
According to him, currently the lectures have started, but he still chooses to study online because the money has not been collected. He was grateful, the campus also gave the option to study online or in person.
“I am trying to find funding through sponsorships like what was done with PT Timah Tbk. Because there is a choice, whether you want to start lectures online or face to face. While waiting for the fees to be collected, I took an online class first,” he said, studying Economics.
He appreciates PT Timah Tbk's support for him, according to him, this assistance from PT Timah Tbk will be used for the cost of his departure to Russia.
"This assistance from PT Timah Tbk will be used for departure costs, tickets, visas, PCR and others. Thank you PT Timah Tbk for supporting me, the children of Babel, to study abroad and this is very useful,” he said.
According to him, when he finishes his education, he intends to implement this knowledge to develop the economy, especially SMEs.
“I want to promote MSMEs in Babylon, and this is in line with PT Timah Tbk's CSR program. PT Timah turned out to provide support to me in fact this is also related to improving the quality of human resources.
