Improving the Quality of Education in West Bangka PT Timah Tbk Hands Over Two Units of Laptops to SD Negeri 2 Muntok

WEST BANGKA -- To support education in West Bangka Regency, PT Timah Tbk handed over educational facilities in the form of two laptop units to SD Negeri 2 Muntok, West Bangka Regency, Monday (9/1/2023).

This assistance from CSR PT Timah Tbk was received directly by the Principal of SDN 2 Muntok, Rahana Manurung.

Rahana Manurung said that this laptop was really needed by the school, because it was to support the Computer-Based National Assessment (ANBK) system.

"From two years ago the school has participated in the Computer-Based National Assessment (ANBK). The quality of the education system in schools is monitored from the ANBK. So we really need a laptop," she said.

They are grateful to receive laptop assistance from PT Timah Tbk so that they can support education at their school.

"Alhamdulillah, we received assistance to purchase two laptops. In addition to previously receiving fruit seeds from PT Timah," she said.

Previously, the school had laptops but two years ago the school lost three laptops due to theft.

"Two years ago we were caught by a thief, lost three laptops, so we needed a laptop," she said.

Her party appreciates PT Timah Tbk which has often supported educational activities at their school. The school's location is not far from the operational area, so that the school often receives attention from PT Timah Tbk.

According to Rahana, PT Timah has helped the community a lot, not only schools but outside of schools many people feel the presence of PT Timah.

"PT Timah is helping the environment a lot, in addition to recruiting workers, helping orphans, the Healthy Car program, and many more," she said.

Meanwhile, West Bangka Regent H. Sukirman appreciated PT Timah's concern for education in West Bangka. He hopes that the quality of education in West Bangka can continue to improve.

"I appreciate PT Timah's concern for education in West Bangka. I hope this assistance will be of use to the schools being assisted, and the quality of education in West Bangka will improve," she said.
