PANGKALPINANG -- To increase student literacy and support the world of education, PT Timah Tbk handed over 1,050 copies of the book Mapur Mendulang Mendulang Stories of Reaping Blessings to the Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial Education Office.
The donation of one thousand copies of this book was symbolically handed over to the Head of the Bangka Belitung Education Service Ervawi during the 2023 National Teacher's Day Education Seminar, at the BPMP Office, Wednesday (15/11/2023).
These books will be distributed to school libraries starting from elementary, middle school, and high school/vocational school levels throughout the Bangka Belitung Islands Province and also agencies in Babel.
The book Mapur Mendulang the Story of Reaping Blessings, a book written by Kurniati and Derry Nodyanto in collaboration with PT Timah Tbk, tells the story of the Mapur Indigenous community and the Lum people in Air Abik Hamlet, Gunung Muda Village, Bangka Regency.
This book, written in seven parts, describes stories in the script about tin and empowerment, mapur in data, mapur as culture, elements of mapur community culture, mapur culture and traditional arts as potential, cultural development as an effort to preserve the mapur community's customs and closing.

The head of the Bangka Belitung Education Service, Ervawi, appreciated PT Timah Tbk's commitment to continuing to care about the education sector in Bangka Belitung.
According to Ervawi, the book that was handed over is a story about the Bangka traditional community which must be introduced to students so that they know about the Mapur Indigenous community.
"This book will be distributed to elementary, middle, high school, and vocational schools. Moreover, this is a history book that must be introduced to children from an early age and this will also add to the school library collection. This book is just one form of PT Timah Tbk's attention to the world of education," he said.
