CENTRAL BANGKA - To increase the productivity and welfare of fishermen in the company's operational area, PT Timah handed over outboard engine assistance to fishermen in Tanah Merah Hamlet, Baskara Bakti Village, Central Bangka Regency, Friday (28/02/2025).
The assistance provided in the form of outboard engines with a power of 9.8 Paardenkracht as many as 10 units.
One of the fishermen in Tanah Merah Hamlet, Gasfar, expressed his appreciation to PT Timah for helping the fishermen group by providing outboard engine assistance.
“Currently, 10 machines have been realized and hopefully there will be more in the future, because this machine really helps us fishermen who usually go to sea on the edge can now go far to the middle,” he said.
“Hopefully PT Timah will always be successful, can carry out its commitment to help us fishermen and also other communities in need,” he hoped.
Meanwhile, Baskara Bakti Village Head Bahtiar Efendi, who was present to witness the handover of the outboard engine assistance, said that this outboard engine assistance would be very useful and increase the enthusiasm of the fishermen to go further out to sea.
“We are very grateful, because this assistance is very useful to boost the economy of fishermen in our village, I see the fishermen are more enthusiastic about going to sea and hopefully can get bigger results,” he said.
He also hopes that PT Timah will return to provide assistance not only for fishermen but also other residents.
“We hope that this assistance program will not only stop here, hopefully assistance can also be given to residents who are not fishermen,” he hoped.
“Hopefully PT Timah always exists and facilitates all its affairs, and can provide more benefits to the community,” he added.
In addition, Herman, Head of RT 06 Tanah Merah Hamlet, also admitted that he was happy to see the fishermen in his village being helped and hoped that the fishermen would find it easier to sail further.
“Alhamdulillah, I appreciate the help for the fishermen, so they can sail farther to the center, if it is farther, the catch can be more than before,” he said.
PT Timah continues to support the improvement of the welfare of fishermen groups with various programs such as supporting fishing equipment, supporting the improvement of facilities and infrastructure for fishermen groups and facilitating fishermen to have social protection insurance through BPJS Employment.
