PANGKALPINANG -- PT Timah continues to support the Government's program in creating a healthy and clean environment as an effort to improve the quality of life of the community, one of which supports the improvement and provision of community sanitation in the company's operational area.
Through the Environmental Social Responsibility (CSR) program, PT Timah builds sanitation facilities in the form of latrines and toilets in various public facilities and residential areas in the company's operational area.
This program is part of PT Timah's attempt to support the government's target in realizing Open Defecation Free (ODF) or Stop Open Defecation in the community.
The construction of these sanitation facilities is expected to encourage changes in clean and healthy living behavior, so as to minimize the potential for the spread of diseases due to poor sanitation.
PT Timah Tbk has built 24 units of sanitation facilities for communities in the Company's operational areas such as in Bangka Belitung Islands Province. This is in line with the company's efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in the fields of health, sanitation and the environment.
“The company is committed to supporting the improvement of the quality of life of the community, through increasing access and quality of public health services as well as improving residential sanitation,” said PT Timah's Department Head Corporate Communication, Anggi Siahaan.
The sanitation facilities that have been built are expected to be utilized by the community so that they can create a healthy and clean environment which has an impact on improving the quality of public health. (*)
