Improving Athletes' Achievements, PT Timah Tbk Departs Karate Athletes in Bangka Barat to the Championship

BANGKA BARAT -- In order to support the achievements of athletes in Bangka Barat, PT Timah Tbk supports karate athletes in West Bangka to compete in the Rahmad Cup II Century Millennium Youth Generation 20 championship which was held in Pangkalpinang.

Participating in the championship is part of coaching athletes, especially for athletes at an early age to sharpen their mentality in the arena of competition.

In this championship, PT Timah Tbk dispatched 25 karate athletes accompanied by three coaches and officials.

The coach of the athletes, Rofi said, the main goal of dispatching athletes was to provide briefing, coaching, and introduction to their foster children about the championship atmosphere.

"In this championship, we want to increase their flying hours, how to feel the atmosphere of the competition, provide coaching for beginner athletes to produce athletes from West Bangka," he said when receiving support from PT Timah Tbk, Friday (28/1/2022).

He said that the departure of the novice athlete in the championship was thanks to the support of PT Timah.

"In this championship, we get support from PT Timah, starting from sending athletes to returning home. PT Timah is very supportive for the development of sports," said Rofi.

Meanwhile, one of the athletes, Muhamad Isam (10) said that he would compete in the committee class targeting to become a champion.

"Want to be a champion, after that become a national athlete," said this 5th-grade elementary school student.

Similarly, Mutiara (15) said that this was her first experience competing in the committee's women's beginner class. However, he is optimistic that he can win.

"Being a champion, giving the best for parents, coaches and also PT Timah," said Mutiara.

One of the athlete's parents, Sri Rohayati, expressed his appreciation to PT Timah Tbk for providing an opportunity for his son in this championship event. Where his baby dreams of becoming a national athlete.
