PANGKALPINANG -- As part of its commitment to maintaining employee health and strengthening the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), PT Timah once again held a health-themed webinar.
The webinar, titled *TINS Series: Operation - Health: "Ergonomics and Musculoskeletal Health: The Key to Worker Productivity and Well-being"*, was attended by hundreds of PT Timah employees on Tuesday (1/7/2025).
Opened by PT Timah’s Division Head of Human Capital, Jezen Zainal Arifin, the webinar aimed to provide education and raise employee awareness about the importance of maintaining physical health and preventing musculoskeletal disorders in the workplace.
With Dr. Dewi Safitri as the featured speaker, the session was met with enthusiasm from employees, as evidenced by the number of questions raised during the discussion following the presentation.
Dr. Dewi discussed symptoms of musculoskeletal disorders, their causes, ways to address them, and the potential long-term impacts if left untreated, which could include a decline in quality of life and reduced productivity.
She noted that workers are more prone to musculoskeletal issues due to repetitive tasks, and stressed the importance of prevention through proper ergonomics in the workplace.
“In today’s fast-paced life, we often neglect musculoskeletal health. But if ignored, it can lead to joint damage over time. Apply ergonomic positions while working and make it a habit to stretch every two hours,” she advised.
Meanwhile, PT Timah’s Department Head of Corporate Communication, Anggi Siahaan, stated that the health webinar is part of the company’s ongoing program, in line with its goal of creating a safe, healthy, and sustainable work environment.
“This webinar is a platform to strengthen employee health literacy, so they are more responsive to potential health risks in the workplace. It is conducted on a regular basis,” he said.
Through this proactive initiative, PT Timah not only supports work productivity but also demonstrates genuine care for employee well-being and the comprehensive implementation of OHS culture.
