Hundreds of Timah employees together with the Bangka Regency Environmental Service held an environmental cleanup action in Sungailiat

BANGKA – PT Timah collaborated with the Bangka Regency Environmental Service (DLH) to carry out an environmental clean-up action on Jalan Jendral Sudirman, Sungailiat City, Friday (28/6/2024).

This environmental clean-up action was attended by hundreds of PT Timah Tbk employees and is part of the conservation efforts carried out by PT Timah. Apart from that, this activity was also carried out to welcome PT Timah's 48th anniversary with the theme 'Moving Compact'.

Head of DLH Bangka Regency, Ismir Rachmaddinianto, said that this activity is an activity that is often carried out by the Bangka Regency Government together with PT Timah.

“This activity is in commemoration of World Environment Day. "Apart from that, this is also not the first activity for us to collaborate with PT Timah, because this is the third activity for us," he said.

Previously, he said, PT Timah together with the Bangka Regency Environmental Service carried out clean-up activities at Taman Sari, Jalan Timah Raya and Jalan Sudirman.

"We really hope that collaboration like this can continue, because as we also know, PT Timah has many assets around Sungailiat City that need to be reorganized," he said.

According to him, the Environmental Service is trying to help and facilitate activities to organize the city and clean the environment.

"Apart from that, this is also a work program for all of us, because we feel the benefits directly, not just ceremonial, but this is more than an action," he said.

Maintaining environmental preservation is the role of all parties, so it is hoped that they can work together to protect the environment sustainably for future generations.

"If all parties do not take part, of course, this will be a big PR for our Government. "Because we have to inherit a really good environment for our next generation," said Ismir.

"We hope that PT Timah can continue to collaborate with the Regional Government to provide actualization of environmental conservation, both from the Government and related stakeholder aspects," he continued.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Engineering & Mine Support (EMS) Division of PT Timah Tbk, Muhammad Ihsan, said that this activity was a collaboration between various parties.

"Today EMS is synergizing with DLH Bangka Regency and IIKT Sungailiat area, our aim today is apart from synergizing, we are also protecting the environment, so today we are jointly cleaning up mess area 8," he said. (*)
