KUNDUR -- The health sector is one of the focuses of PT Timah Tbk. For this reason, through the company's CSR, PT Timah Tbk has several programs in the health sector to improve the quality of public health around the mining area.
Throughout 2022, members of the Indonesian mining holding MIND ID carry out several health programs in Karimun Regency, Riau Archipelago Province such as free health services, blood donors, handling of stunting and mass circumcision.
Free health services reach 200 people spread across 98 people in Kundur Barat District, 27 people in Tebing District, Karimun Regency, and 112 people in Rangsang District, Meranti Islands Regency.
Apart from that, PT Timah Tbk also carried out a mass circumcision which was attended by dozens of children which was held at Wisma Tin Kundur.
To support the availability of blood supply, together with PMI Karimun, PT Timah Tbk also held a blood donor activity which managed to collect dozens of blood bags.
To reduce medical expenses for economically disadvantaged residents, PT Timah Tbk also provides assistance with medical expenses for the community.
PT Timah has also provided hundreds of additional food packages to help treat stunting for children who suffer from stunting in the Tebing District and Kundur Barat District, Karimun Regency.
The Head of the Tebing Alaidin District Health Center appreciated PT Timah Tbk for caring about the handling of stunting children by providing additional food to improve children's nutrition.
"In addition, PT Timah Tbk also provides free medical services for the community. Of course, we really support programs like this," he explained.
In the same vein, Yus Ahmadi (62), a resident of the Teluk Uma sub-district, Tebing District, admits that he has benefited from the free health service program conducted by PT Timah Tbk.
"Activities like this are very good and we support them, especially since there is no charge or free of charge," he said.
Meanwhile, Jamaah (72), a resident of Hamlet I, Kundur Village, hopes that the health service program implemented by PT Timah Tbk can continue.
"Activities like this can often be carried out by PT Timah to help underprivileged residents. If I have to go to the Puskesmas, the distance taken is quite far for me. But if PT Timah often provides health services like this, people will definitely feel happy," he said.
In the same way as the Head of West Kundur sub-district, Khaidir said, PT Timah Tbk does not only care about public health services, but also helps the community in various sectors such as the environment, the economy and assistance for fishermen.
"With the assistance that has been provided by the company, it can help improve people's lives, both from an economic, health and development perspective. PT Timah Tbk's contribution is very real in supporting community activities," he stated.
