131 residents took advantage of the free healthcare services at the Mobile Health Unit stationed at Mantung Port on Wednesday (5/2/2025). This initiative was in conjunction with the National Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Month commemoration at PT Timah’s North Bangka Area.
The community members enthusiastically participated in the Mobile Health event, receiving medical check-ups and consultations. They were also provided with medication or vitamins.
In addition to free healthcare services, participants of the Mobile Health Unit also received basic food packages to help ease their daily needs.
Aziz Suryaman (70), a former PT Timah employee, expressed his gratitude for the Mobile Health Unit’s presence in Belinyu.
"I’m very happy that PT Timah cares. This program is really helpful because I don’t have to travel far to the hospital. I had a check-up and consulted with the doctors in the Mobile Health Unit," he said.
Similarly, Erlistina (68) also felt greatly assisted by the free medical services provided to the Belinyu community.
"I’m happy because I can get free medicine and consult with the doctor. Since I’m elderly, it’s sometimes difficult for me to travel far to the hospital. With the Mobile Health Unit, it’s convenient as it’s close to home," she said.
Through various social programs and healthcare services, PT Timah continues to strive to provide broader benefits, in line with its commitment to social responsibility and sustainability. (*)
