BANGKA BARAT -- PT TIMAH Tbk, in collaboration with the Bangka Belitung Naval Base (Lanal), has dispatched five units of heavy equipment in the form of excavators to accelerate recovery efforts and public services for communities affected by floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

The shipment of the five excavators was carried out using the Indonesian Navy warship KRI Gilimanuk-531 from the Mentok Pier, Bangka Barat Regency. The dispatch was attended by the Commander of Lanal Bangka Belitung, Marine Colonel Yulindo; representatives of PT TIMAH Tbk; Assistant I of the Bangka Barat Regency Government; the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD); and the Head of the Mentok Naval Post, on Saturday (January 10, 2026).

Commander of the Bangka Belitung Naval Base (Danlanal), Marine Colonel Yulindo, stated that the delivery of heavy equipment assistance represents a form of synergy between the Indonesian Navy, PT TIMAH Tbk, and the Bangka Barat Regency Government in a humanitarian mission.

“Today, the Indonesian Navy, in cooperation with PT TIMAH Tbk, is sending heavy equipment assistance in the form of excavators transported using an Indonesian Navy warship to disaster-affected areas in three provinces. This assistance is expected to help ease the burden on communities impacted by the disaster. The Bangka Barat Regency Government has also sent logistical aid,” said Yulindo.

He expressed hope that this collaboration would provide tangible benefits for communities in disaster-affected areas.

“Hopefully, this cooperation can help ease the burden of our brothers and sisters in the disaster areas,” he added.

In addition to humanitarian missions, the Commander of Lanal Bangka Belitung also conveyed that the Indonesian Navy is synergizing with PT TIMAH Tbk in providing education to the community regarding good and proper mining practices.

Meanwhile, Assistant I for Government and Public Welfare of the Bangka Barat Regency Government, Sidharta Gautama, stated that the synergy between the Indonesian Navy, PT TIMAH Tbk, and the Bangka Barat Regency Government reflects a shared concern for humanity.

“This synergy is a humanitarian mission, as a form of our collective concern for our brothers and sisters affected by disasters. We invite the community, especially in Bangka Barat, to continue caring and helping those who need assistance,” said Sidharta.
