House of Central Bangka Resident Nearly Collapsed, PT TIMAH Tbk Provides Decent Housing for Aling

CENTRAL BANGKA – PT TIMAH Tbk once again provided decent housing assistance for low-income communities in its operational area. This time, PT TIMAH Tbk built a decent house for Aling, a resident of Padang Baru Village, Central Bangka Regency.

The construction of livable houses for low-income residents is part of PT TIMAH Tbk’s efforts to improve the quality of life and welfare of the community.

Aling and her family were known to live in a house that was nearly collapsing and posed a serious danger to them. However, due to financial limitations, Aling, her child, and her husband had no choice but to stay in that condition.

The Head of Padang Baru Village, Amnah, stated that Aling's house was not suitable for living because it was almost falling apart and posed a serious risk to its occupants. Moreover, it was known that Aling also suffered from a mental disorder.

“Aling’s house was indeed nearly collapsed, the wood was already rotten. Aling has a mental disorder and often screams that the house is falling down,” she said.

According to Amnah, they had previously proposed Aling’s house to be repaired by the Central Bangka Regency Government through the Housing and Settlement Department (Perkimhub), but due to budget constraints, the repairs could not be carried out.

“Thankfully, there was assistance from PT TIMAH Tbk, so the repairs could be done more quickly. We had already submitted the proposal to the Regency Government, but with many requests and limited budget, it hadn't been approved,” she said.

She expressed her appreciation for PT TIMAH Tbk’s swift response in helping to build a decent house for Aling and her family. She hopes that the synergy between PT TIMAH Tbk and the Padang Baru Village Government will continue in the future.

“Hopefully, PT TIMAH Tbk can continue supporting our community, and may the company thrive so that more social assistance can be given to the people of Bangka Belitung,” she concluded. (*)
