WEST BANGKA -- Herman, a resident of Dusung Pangkalan Ahoi Hamlet 1 Belo Laut, Muntok, West Bangka Regency did not expect his house to be rebuilt by PT Timah Tbk, Monday (8/8/2022),
Herman's house is known to have suffered various damages, such as the wood being already brittle, and the roof made of the thatched tree also damaged. He who works as a fisherman with an uncertain income can not do much to repair his house.
PT Timah Tbk synergized with Kodim 0431 West Bangka to complete the construction of livable housing (RTLH) for Herman and his family. A total of 20 members of the Indonesian Army and employees of PT Timah Tbk were directly involved in demolishing Herman's house, Monday (8/8/2022).
"Alhamdulillah, we are very happy, did not expect that we will receive housing assistance from PT Timah," said Herman.
Herman said that all the house assistance processes were assisted by Babinsa who served in their village and was also assisted by the village government. At first, he didn't think he would get the help.
"We did not apply for assistance in the form of proposals, all of them were assisted by members of the Babinsa (TNI) and village government officials, who submitted them to PT Timah. We thank God, to PT Timah, the Indonesian Army, the Village Government for getting this fortune," said Herman.
Meanwhile, Dandim 0431 West Bangka Lieutenant Colonel Inf Deri Indrawan said his party was in synergy with PT Timah Tbk to help people in need. He hopes that the construction of livable houses for these residents can continue.
"This is a form of concern for the TNI AD, in this case, Kodim 0431/West Bangka to be able to help the community's difficulties, and the benefits can be immediately felt. In this activity we collaborate with PT Timah Tbk to be able to work together/synergize to carry out this house renovation," he said.
Similarly, the Head of Hamlet 1 Belo Laut Damsah appreciated the form of synergy between PT Timah Tbk and the TNI who had helped and cared for the community in their environment.
"We express our appreciation to PT Timah and the TNI for their concern for underprivileged fishermen. As we all know, fishermen's income is uncertain," he said.
He revealed that previously PT Timah Tbk also often helped their communities such as food assistance, sports facilities, and religious facilities.
Previously, last week PT Timah Tbk also handed over assistance for a livable house for Asnah, a resident of Pangkalpinang City. Where PT Timah Tbk's RTLH assistance is carried out regularly every year to help the community in the company's operational areas.
