KUNDUR -- To help the community in the company's operational area, employees of PT Timah Tbk at the Kundur Production Unit took the initiative to raise funds to help Anggun Sahputri who is suffering from lymphatic cancer.
The donations from employees from various divisions including dredger crews and production suction boats will be handed over directly to Anggun who is a resident of Jalan Teluk Dusun I Kundur Village, West Kundur District, on Monday (28/8/2023).
Anggun Sahputri's parents, with teary eyes, seemed so moved when they received the assistance provided by representatives of PT Timah employees. He did not expect that PT Timah employees would care so much for their children.
"As a parent, I would like to thank PT Timah employees for their concern for us. This assistance is certainly very helpful in our efforts to cure Anggun," he said.
According to him, with their mediocre economic conditions, the feeling is very heavy but they still try to be strong and steadfast to go through all this.
"Alhamdulillah, with the generosity and helping hands of the entire community, we ask for prayers for the recovery of our child, Anggun Sahputri," he said.
The fourth child of the couple Sudirman and Sarimah is currently in need of medical expenses which are not small due to the illness he is suffering from.
The fundraising coordinator, Rusman said that this donation was part of their concern, which is also part of the community where they work.
"We are concerned about the misfortune that is being experienced by Anggun's sister. So we, as employees, are moved to raise donations to help offset the cost of our sister's treatment. As we know, Anggun's sister's medical expenses are quite high," he said.
This activity received appreciation from the Head of IKT Kundur Budi Santoso. Budi appreciates the employees of PT Timah Tbk Kundur Unit who have helped ease the cost of medical treatment for the community.
"Hopefully we as Tin people can become human beings who are useful to others," he said.
Meanwhile, Yusufian, the Head of West Kundur Sub-District, gave his appreciation to PT Timah employees who had set aside their fortune to help pay for the medical expenses of their sick residents.
"Hopefully what we do becomes a good deed and leads us to become human beings who are useful to others," he said.
Previously, through their CSR, PT Timah and IKT Kundur had provided assistance to cover Anggun Sahputri's medical expenses. (*)
