Helping Residents' Food Needs, PT Timah Hands Over Hundreds of Basic Food Packages to Beriga Village Residents

BANGKA TENGAH – PT Timah has distributed hundreds of food packages to the residents of Beriga Village, Lubuk Besar District, Central Bangka Regency. The distribution of these food packages is intended to help meet the community's food needs.

The handover of 309 food packages from PT Timah was attended by the Acting Regent of Central Bangka, Era Susanto, at the Beriga Village Meeting Hall on Monday, September 30, 2024.

Era Susanto expressed that the food packages from PT Timah would be helpful to the community amidst the current economic challenges.

"I hope this assistance benefits the community. Those receiving this gift from PT Timah will be helped, especially during these tumultuous economic times," said Era.

Looking ahead, Era hopes that PT Timah will continue contributing to the people of Beriga Village and Central Bangka through its social and environmental responsibility programs.

"Hopefully, PT Timah can assess the situation in Beriga Village, including the roads and other facilities, and determine what can be helped. The community also hopes that activities like this can be done regularly," he added.

"In the future, PT Timah could also carry out other social activities, such as free medical services, in Beriga Village," he continued.

Meanwhile, Mariana, one of the beneficiaries, was very pleased with the food package assistance from PT Timah.

"Alhamdulillah, I am so happy to receive this food aid today. This assistance has been very helpful for me. Moreover, I rarely get such assistance, so I am grateful to receive this package today. I hope this kind of activity will continue to be held regularly," said Mariana.

Similarly, Marina expressed her gratitude for the food package, especially since this was her first time receiving aid.

"This is my first time getting a food package. I've never received one before, so I’m very happy with this assistance," she said.

She added that the food package would meet her family's food needs for the next week.

"If possible, we hope for more assistance in the future, such as social aid funds. Additionally, free medical services would be appreciated, as medical facilities are quite far from us," she hoped. (*)
