KARIMUN -- The blood donation activity held in celebration of PT Timah’s 49th anniversary in Kundur, Karimun Regency, was met with enthusiasm from both employees and local residents. The event, which took place at the PT Timah Kundur Ceremony Field on Sunday (July 20, 2025), successfully collected 110 bags of blood.
This humanitarian effort invited people from Kundur Island and surrounding areas to participate in helping meet the blood supply needs of those in need.
Previously, similar blood donation activities were also held in Jakarta and Belitung as part of the 49th anniversary celebration series, which carries the theme "For the Red and White."
One of the donors, Suryati from Prayun Village, expressed her happiness in being part of the event, sharing that she experiences many health benefits from donating blood.
"I've regularly donated blood, usually every six months. Today I'm really happy to do it again. Donating blood is not only good for my health, but also a noble act to help those in urgent need of blood," she said.
Suryati also shared that one of her motivations came from a personal experience, as her husband once had difficulty obtaining blood while he was ill.
"Another reason I participate in this blood drive is because I know how hard it can be to find available blood when it’s needed the most. I’ve been through that with my husband. Hopefully, by donating, I can help ease that burden for others around Kundur," she explained.
In addition to the blood donation, the 49th anniversary festivities in Kundur also included a fun walk, a group zumba session, and a local MSME bazaar. The event was further enlivened by the distribution of hundreds of door prizes and grand prizes, including eight motorcycles.
This celebration was not just a commemoration of PT Timah’s anniversary, but a reflection of its ongoing commitment to being present and making a meaningful impact in the communities where it operates.
