BANGKA SELATAN -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting communities through various social programs, including in the healthcare sector.
In addition to providing free healthcare services through its Mobile Health Clinic program, PT TIMAH also offers medical assistance to residents in need.
One example is the medical support provided for Risma, a resident of Sungai Gusung Hamlet, Rias Village, South Bangka Regency, who is currently undergoing intensive treatment following an accident she experienced some time ago.
Risma’s father, Ridwan, explained that after the accident, his daughter continues to experience health issues, especially frequent dizziness related to a head injury, and still requires regular medical treatment.
Amid the family’s limited economic condition, Ridwan said they have struggled to cover the cost of their daughter’s treatment.
He expressed gratitude for the assistance from PT TIMAH, which has enabled them to continue Risma’s treatment and gain a clearer understanding of her medical condition.
“Thank you to PT TIMAH for the support. This assistance will be used to help cover the costs of Risma’s medical check-ups and treatment, as she still regularly undergoes examinations at Gadung Hospital. If there is no improvement with medication therapy, the plan is for her to be referred for surgery,” said Ridwan.
Meanwhile, the Head of Rias Village, Muslim, expressed appreciation for PT TIMAH’s concern for the local community. According to him, the assistance has greatly helped Risma’s family, who are currently focused on continuing her treatment.
“She still frequently visits the hospital for check-ups. The assistance is being used for treatment and medical examinations because the doctors have advised her to continue regular check-ups,” he said.
He explained that based on the doctors’ assessment, Risma is currently still undergoing treatment with medication. If her condition does not improve, surgery may be considered in accordance with the doctors’ recommendation.
Ridwan also stated that PT TIMAH’s concern for the residents of Rias Village is not new. Previously, the company had also supported local fishermen through assistance programs such as fishing net aid and various other social initiatives.
“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to PT TIMAH for helping our residents. Hopefully, PT TIMAH will continue to care for the community, especially the people of Rias Village,” he said.
