Heating Up the Atmosphere Ahead of the TINS Half Marathon 2025, PT Timah Hosts Race Pack Collection, Talkshow with National Athletes and Running Influencers, and Shake Off Run

PANGKALPINANG -- As the TINS Half Marathon approaches, which is being held to celebrate PT Timah’s 49th anniversary on Saturday, August 23, 2025, in Pangkalpinang City, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, the pre-event activities are also taking place with great enthusiasm.

The pre-event activities for the TINS Half Marathon, which began with race pack collection (Race Pack Collection/RPC), a talk show with running influencers and national athletes, and a shake-off run, took place at Graha Timah on Friday (August 22, 2025).

Since early morning, thousands of runners participating in the event began flocking to the race pack collection location at Graha Timah PT Timah Tbk. The atmosphere grew even more lively as organizers set up an interactive area featuring a photo booth, sponsor product stands, and a small and medium enterprise (SME) bazaar.

The excitement of the TINS Half Marathon was further enhanced by a talk show featuring running influencers Sheryl Sheinafia and Fahril Baharuddin, along with national athlete Robi Syianturi, who shared their experiences, tips ahead of the race, mental preparation for the finish line, and inspiring stories.

The TINS Half Marathon 2025 featured three race categories: 5K, 10K, and 21K, open to all participants.

In anticipation of the event the day before, a shake-off run was held as a mass warm-up. Participants were invited to take a leisurely jog while enjoying the atmosphere of Pangkalpinang city. Besides exercising their muscles, this activity also created positive energy and a sense of togetherness before the main race began.

One of the runners participating in the TINS Half Marathon 2025, Yang Faradina, said she had specifically come from Jakarta to join the TINS Half Marathon event. Not only herself, but she also invited her friends living in Mentok, Bangka Barat, to participate in this event.

“I came from Jakarta and didn't come alone to participate in the TINS Half Marathon. I invited my friends in Mentok to join this event as well because this is my first experience running in my own area on Bangka Island, and I'm very excited,” she said.

She also praised the preparation for the TINS Half Marathon, which she found very convenient for the runners.

“It was conducted professionally, from the distribution of race packs and other aspects, similar to the standards of marathon events I've participated in both domestically and internationally,” he said.

Meanwhile, running influencer Sheryl Sheinafia said the TINS Half Marathon was an event she had been eagerly awaiting for the past few months. Especially seeing the enthusiasm of the participants to join this event.

“I watched the race on Bangka Island, and to be honest, I was nervous because the race was really exciting, but I also saw that everyone was really enthusiastic. Because this event is just for fun, there's no pressure, I think it's going to be a lot of fun,” he said.

“I'm very excited; this is one of the events I've been waiting for for several months. Stay enthusiastic,” he added.

National athlete Robi Syianturi expressed his pride that a Half Marathon event could be held in his hometown, as it had been a long time since such an event was held on Bangka Island.

“Of course, as an athlete originally from Bangka Belitung, I am very proud of this event, especially since such events have not been held for a very long time. And the fact that the tin mining company PT Timah is now getting involved in organizing such activities is truly remarkable,” he said. (*)
