In the Health sector, the company's commitment includes improving access and quality of public health services, one of which is implementing Healthy Cars.
PT Timah Tbk's Healthy Car has served thousands of people in the company's operational areas such as Bangka Island, Belitung, and Kundur.
Recently, PT Timah Tbk also presented the Kemunting Program which has the acronym Stunting Reduction Activities. Kemunting is carried out in the form of health outreach about stunting.
Kemunting is one of PT Timah Tbk's efforts to reduce the prevalence of stunting. This is in line with the Government's efforts to reduce stunting rates. PT Timah Tbk also provides additional food packages for stunted children.
The Kemunting program has been present by providing education for students at SMAN 1 Pemali Bangka, providing education for pregnant women in Cupat Village, West Bangka Regency, and Badau Village, Belitung Regency.
The presence of two programs in the health sector implemented by PT Timah Tbk was also enthusiastically welcomed by the community. When PT Timah Tbk's healthy car was present in Mengkubang Village, as many as 103 people had their health checked in the healthy car.
A resident of Damar Hamlet, Mengkubang Village, Suparmi said that he had received treatment twice in PT Timah Tbk's health car. He likes getting treatment in the healthy car because the service is good and fast.
"The service is good, and the treatment is delicious in this car," said Suparmi.
She hopes that PT Timah Tbk will continue to run the healthy car program in East Belitung because the community is waiting for it, especially people who rarely go to health facilities.
Meanwhile, one of the students at SMAN 1 Pemali who took part in the Kemunting Jingga program said that he already knew about stunting, but today he only learned about preventing and handling stunting.
"It was really exciting when we were explained about new things that provide new insight. We often hear about stunting, but it turns out this is very broad. In fact, we have to take care of it from now on so that later we can give birth to a generation that is not stunted," he said.
Likewise, Ikbar Kamulian said he had gained many new insights about stunting, prevention, and treatment.
"What was conveyed is very related to the current conditions, and this also makes us more careful in socializing rather than falling into early marriage which causes unpreparedness to become parents," he said. (*)
