PANGKALPINANG -- Preparing high-quality human resources is an important step toward realizing Indonesia’s vision of achieving the Golden Generation 2045. PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to support this effort through various education programs.
PT TIMAH not only provides access to scholarships, but also equips students with competencies, character, and readiness to pursue higher education.
One of these programs is the Pemali Boarding School, an educational scholarship program initiated by PT TIMAH that provides students with the opportunity to receive education and comprehensive development through a boarding school system.
Through this program, students are not only supported academically through their education at SMAN 1 Pemali, Bangka Regency, but also receive character development, soft skills training, and non-academic development to prepare them for future challenges.
The education program has been further strengthened through collaboration between PT TIMAH, MIND ID, and Ruangguru through the MINDucation program. The program provides students with access to digital learning and mentoring, particularly to help them prepare for entrance examinations to public universities.
These learning facilities provide students with additional opportunities to deepen their understanding of academic subjects, catch up on lessons, and develop strategies for various university admission pathways, including SNBP, SNBT, and independent admission routes.
For the students, this support provides a more flexible learning experience. They can use the learning platform to study materials in advance while reviewing lessons they have not yet fully understood at school.
Ulfia Maharani said the program has helped her prepare for her journey toward higher education since she was in 11th grade.
According to her, the materials available on the digital learning platform are helpful when she has not fully understood certain subjects at school.
“With this application, I can review materials that I still do not understand and catch up on lessons that I have fallen behind on,” Ulfia said.
She hopes the educational support from PT TIMAH and MIND ID will continue so that its benefits can reach more students. Ulfia herself plans to continue her education at the Indonesia University of Education (UPI), majoring in Psychology.
In addition to digital learning facilities, efforts to strengthen students’ capabilities are also carried out through development activities and knowledge-sharing sessions with inspirational figures.
As part of the program, Rafael David Santoso, one of the participants in Clash of Champions Season 2, visited PT TIMAH’s Pemali Boarding School to provide a session on SWOT analysis and SMART Goals.
Rafael encouraged the students to understand their potential, identify their strengths and weaknesses, and set goals in a more structured manner. According to him, the ability to set clear goals is an important asset for students in preparing for their future.
He also encouraged the participants to give their best effort throughout every stage of the learning process.
Rafael said the educational facilities provided through the collaboration between PT TIMAH, MIND ID, and Ruangguru should be utilized to the fullest, especially by students preparing for higher education.
“Give 110 percent effort so that the material provided can be absorbed as fully as possible and aligned with the plans you have made,” Rafael told the students.
Rafael also shared strategies for maintaining motivation to study amid the various challenges faced by students. According to him, students need to have a clear picture of what they want to achieve over the next three to five years. Those dreams then need to be translated into more concrete goals and actionable steps that can be pursued consistently.
He reminded the students not to waste the various facilities available to them, including free access to learning through Ruangguru.
The program is considered particularly relevant for 12th-grade students who are beginning to prepare for university entrance examinations.
The education programs implemented by PT TIMAH together with MIND ID demonstrate that investment in human resources goes beyond providing scholarships.
More broadly, education is aimed at building an ecosystem that enables students to access learning resources, receive guidance, develop their character, and have opportunities to strengthen their competencies.
The collaboration with Ruangguru through MINDucation is one of the efforts to strengthen this ecosystem. Students gain access to a wider range of learning resources while also having opportunities to enrich their experiences through various personal development activities. (*)
