BANGKA BELITUNG - Training on biocarts, cocopeat and making liquid organic fertilizer carried out by PT Timah Tbk for the Air Jelutung Farmers Group (Poktan), Badau Village, has had a positive impact.
Because, after PT Timah Tbk collaborated with Sucofindo Semarang, conducting training in Poktan produced results as a form of company support in increasing pineapple production on Belitung Island.
Chairman of the Jelutung Water Farmers Group, Suhari, said that previously their poktan land was former mining, so when they planted pineapples it was still not optimal, because of the condition of the land.
Armed with the training carried out by PT Timah Tbk, they began to apply their knowledge so that now it is starting to produce good results.
"The results are already visible, and have a good impact, because the fruit has started to get bigger before the training was carried out," said Suhari.
According to Suhari, the condition of the soil after being given biocart, cocopeat and liquid organic fertilizer certainly produced results, namely the soil became more fertile.
Because, after the training, they continued to make liquid fertilizer independently and continued to do so.
"The impact is that the pineapples are starting to become fertile and many of the fruits are big," he said.
In fact, said Suhari, there are people who have learned to make liquid fertilizer to apply to their gardens, of course this has a big impact on the community, to help the community's agriculture.
Therefore, he appreciated the training carried out by PT Timah Tbk, because it had proven excellent results and impact.
"It has really helped us as a farmer group so we can know how to make manure and liquid organic fertilizer," he said.
