From Wedding Gift Sets to Creative Products, Studio Dian Tantra Grows with Support from Rumah BUMN Belitung and PT TIMAH

BELITUNG -- PT TIMAH, through Rumah BUMN Belitung, continues to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Belitung Regency by promoting their products to reach a wider audience.

This is what Dian, the owner of Studio Dian Tantra, has experienced as she develops her craft-based business. A hobby she has consistently pursued has turned into a promising business opportunity.

“Alhamdulillah, since joining Rumah BUMN Belitung, our products have become more widely recognized,” she said.

She shared that since a young age, she has had a strong interest in various crafts and handmade items. Without formal education in the field, she honed her skills independently, enabling her to create a variety of creative products with commercial value.

Her business journey began with a simple request to create a wedding gift set for a friend. Unexpectedly, that experience led to more orders and became the starting point for the growth of her business, now known as Studio Dian Tantra, located on Jalan Padang Terkukur, Tanjungpandan District, Belitung Regency.

“At first, I only made wedding gift sets for a friend. From there, thankfully, more orders started coming in and the business kept growing,” Dian explained.

Over time, the range of products expanded significantly. They now include decoupage crafts, coin purses, bags, keychains, brooches, ceramic bracelets, ecoprint hats, and aromatherapy candles.

Each product is crafted with a personal touch that serves as its unique signature. This distinctiveness gives Studio Dian Tantra a strong identity amid the increasingly competitive craft industry. Rather than simply following trends, each piece reflects the creator’s character and creativity.

However, despite its growth, Dian acknowledged that she still faces several challenges, particularly in sourcing raw materials. Most materials must be brought in from outside the region due to the limited number of suppliers in Belitung.

“Our current challenge is meeting market demand, while raw materials have to be sourced from outside the area because local suppliers are still limited,” she said.

In terms of marketing, Dian manages her business independently through digital platforms and by participating in various bazaars. Despite being supported by only two employees, Studio Dian Tantra continues to maintain quality and produce exclusive products.

Support from Rumah BUMN Belitung, managed by PT TIMAH, has also played a significant role as a development platform for MSMEs. Dian admitted that it has been very helpful, especially in marketing and improving business capacity through various training programs.

“I have also received many trainings that have been very helpful for developing my business,” she added.
