PANGKALPINANG -- The selection process for the PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk Scholarship Class Program at SMAN 1 Pemali for the 2026/2027 Academic Year is ongoing. Participants have now completed a series of selection stages, including the Academic Potential Test, Psychotest, Interviews, Clinical Psychology Assessment, and Document Validation, which were conducted across Bangka Island, Belitung, the Riau Islands, and Riau from May 6–11, 2026.
A total of 63 students participating in the Academic Potential Test, Psychotest, Interviews, Clinical Psychology Assessment, and Document Validation are competing for a place in PT TIMAH’s Scholarship Class Program, one of the company’s flagship initiatives.
As previously reported, 194 students registered for the program this year, while only 36 students will ultimately be accepted into the Scholarship Class Program, which PT TIMAH first launched in 2000.
The scholarship class program continues to attract outstanding students from various regions. In addition to providing opportunities to study at a leading school, the program is also considered a pathway for students to develop their potential and pursue their dreams.
One of the participants, Jericha Putri Sahila, a student from SMPN 2 Karimun, said she was interested in joining the selection because of the school’s reputation as a high-achieving and leading educational institution.
“I was interested in joining the selection because the school is excellent, has many achievements, and stands out compared to others. I also learned about this program from an older student who once studied there,” she said after completing the academic potential test.
Jericha said she was happy to participate in the selection process and hopes to advance to the next stage. Although she initially felt nervous, she admitted that the experience allowed her to gain new experiences and make friends from various regions.
“Of course, I’m happy and hope I can pass to the next stage. I was a little nervous, but it was exciting because I gained many new friends and experiences. I hope I can pass and study there because it’s a great school,” she said.
Similar enthusiasm was expressed by Bazla Atqiya, a student from SMPN 3 Rangsang in Tanjung Samak, Meranti Islands Regency.
Bazla said she was motivated to join the scholarship class program because she saw the quality of education at SMAN 1 Pemali as something that could support her future goals.
“I’m interested and motivated to join this program because the school is advanced and can help me achieve my dreams,” she said.
She learned about the program from one of her relatives who had previously participated in a similar program. Bazla also expressed her happiness at making it through to the current selection stage.
“I’m very happy to have made it this far to the next test stage. Of course, I hope I can pass the selection because I’ve been interested in this program since sixth grade,” she added.
