From Health Checkups to Health Education, South Bangka Residents Benefit from PT TIMAH’s Free Healthcare Services

SOUTH BANGKA -- In celebration of its 50th Anniversary on August 2, 2026, PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk is holding its Community Service Month across several of the Company’s operational areas. A variety of social programs, including mass circumcisions, blood donation drives, and free health checkup services, are being organized as part of the Company’s commitment to providing direct benefits to the community.

Free health checkup services have become one of the most popular programs during PT TIMAH’s 50th Anniversary Community Service Month, which carries the theme "Tin for the People."

In South Bangka, PT TIMAH’s free health checkup service, held at the Company’s office in Toboali, South Bangka Regency, on Thursday (July 30, 2026), received an enthusiastic response from the community. A total of 145 residents benefited from the free healthcare services.

Since early morning, people from various backgrounds had gathered at the venue. The free health checkup service gave residents the opportunity to assess their health conditions while also receiving medical consultations and health education from healthcare professionals.

Toboali Village Head, Nadi Martika, expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH’s initiative to provide free health checkup services, noting that the program delivers tangible benefits to the community.

"I truly appreciate PT TIMAH for providing free health checkup services because this program genuinely reaches the people. For many residents, the cost of hospital treatment can be quite burdensome. With these free services, the community has been greatly helped. Alhamdulillah, many residents came to take advantage of this opportunity," he said.

According to Nadi, PT TIMAH has consistently demonstrated its commitment to supporting local communities through various social programs carried out in collaboration with the South Bangka Regency Government.

"Year after year, I have seen that PT TIMAH’s consistency has never changed. Its support and contributions to the people of South Bangka Regency have been extraordinary. I hope all of these programs continue sustainably and provide even greater benefits. As PT TIMAH celebrates its 50th anniversary, I wish the Company continued success, greater achievements, stronger collaboration, and continued efforts to empower communities through programs that directly address people's needs," he added.

One of the beneficiaries, Desi (31), a resident of Bager, Toboali, expressed her gratitude for being able to participate in the free health checkup. She learned about the program from a friend and immediately came to the venue to avoid missing the opportunity.

"I'm happy to be able to join this free health checkup. A friend called and told me there was a free health screening, so I rushed here because I was worried it might already be over. Fortunately, I was still able to register even though I only received the information this afternoon," she said.

Desi said the service is very helpful for the community, especially because it not only provides health examinations but also educates people about the importance of maintaining good health from an early stage.

"PT TIMAH’s health checkup service is truly needed by residents like us because it helps reduce our medical expenses," she said.

A similar sentiment was shared by Ritania (39), a resident of Batu Perahu. She came to have her health checked after experiencing frequent headaches over the past few days.

"I've been having headaches for the past few days. With health checkup services like this, we become more aware of our health conditions. At first, I was worried that I might have high blood pressure, but the doctor explained that I simply need more rest and should maintain a healthier diet, including reducing oily foods. So, not only did I receive a medical examination, but I also gained valuable knowledge that I can apply after returning home," she said.

For Desi, the health checkup served as a reminder to pay closer attention to her health. Meanwhile, for Ritania, the health education she received became a motivation to adopt a healthier lifestyle to help prevent various illnesses. (*)
