PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH Tbk's Micro and Small Business Funding Program (PUMK) continues to deliver tangible results in supporting the growth of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). Throughout 2025, a total of 16 of the company's fostered MSMEs successfully advanced to the next level after demonstrating significant improvements in business performance and capacity.
Through the PUMK program, PT TIMAH provides not only business financing but also comprehensive support to strengthen the capabilities of MSMEs, enabling them to grow and become more competitive.
The "MSME Upgrading" recognition is awarded to PT TIMAH's fostered business partners that meet at least two business development indicators. These indicators include an increase in the number of employees, higher business loan values, expanded production capacity, increased revenue, greater involvement of local communities in the production process, market expansion beyond the local region or internationally, and the achievement of national or international certifications.
The success of these upgraded MSMEs demonstrates that PT TIMAH's support has enhanced the competitiveness of local businesses while contributing to stronger community-based economic development across the company's operational areas.
PT TIMAH's PUMK program is designed to help micro and small enterprises not only survive economic challenges but also grow into more independent businesses capable of generating broader economic benefits for their communities.
In addition to financial assistance, PT TIMAH regularly provides a wide range of business development programs for its fostered partners. These include business management training, product quality improvement, marketing strategy development, MSME digitalization, and promotional opportunities through exhibitions and business events.
Through these continuous development initiatives, MSME owners are encouraged to innovate, improve product quality, expand their marketing networks, and create employment opportunities within their communities.
Anggi Siahaan, Department Head of Corporate Communication at PT TIMAH Tbk, said that MSME empowerment remains one of the company's key priorities in supporting economic growth throughout its operational areas.
"PT TIMAH remains committed to delivering empowerment programs that provide not only access to financing but also strengthen the capabilities of MSME entrepreneurs so they can continue to grow and remain competitive. We hope our sustainable development initiatives will create a lasting positive impact on the growth of their businesses," Anggi said.
According to him, PT TIMAH will continue strengthening its business development initiatives through training, business mentoring, promotional support, and expanded market access, enabling more MSMEs to grow, create employment opportunities, and contribute to regional economic development.
Since its launch in 2000, PT TIMAH's PUMK Program has supported the business development of 9,787 MSME entrepreneurs across various regions of Indonesia as of 2025. (*)
