PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to strengthen its commitment to implementing Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs for communities in its operational areas.
The various programs carried out have provided tangible benefits to the community, including in South Bangka Regency.
The implementation of these TJSL programs is inseparable from the synergy and collaboration between the company, local government, and the community. Through effective communication, various community needs can be addressed through social, economic, health, and agricultural development programs.
The Head of Simpang Rimba Subdistrict, Normansyah, stated that PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk has provided numerous forms of community assistance that have been directly beneficial to residents.
“So far, there has been a lot of assistance provided, such as basic food aid, sacrificial cattle every year, and community economic development programs,” he said during the discussion on the update of PT TIMAH’s RIPPM in South Bangka some time ago.
He expressed hope that the synergy between the company and the South Bangka Regency Government will continue to support community welfare.
In addition, Normansyah also conveyed hopes for infrastructure support, particularly the construction of bridges in Permis Village and Rajik Village, Simpang Rimba Subdistrict.
According to him, the presence of these bridges would help improve community mobility while also supporting operational activities in the area.
“We hope that future programs will have an even greater impact on improving the welfare of the people of South Bangka,” he added.
A similar statement was made by the Head of Paku Village, Palmori. He explained that the residents of Paku Village have received various forms of assistance from the company, especially in the agricultural and health sectors.
“We have received support such as sacrificial cattle, chili farming development programs, and free medical services that have greatly helped the community,” Palmori said.
According to him, the chili farming development program has had a positive impact on the community. In fact, the 2025 chili harvest encouraged residents to hold a grand harvest celebration as an expression of gratitude for the success of the village’s agricultural sector.
However, Palmori hopes that the free healthcare program can be carried out regularly again, as it is still greatly needed by the community.
In addition, the community also hopes for support in environmental and agricultural sectors, such as garbage transport vehicles, clean water facilities, and equipment for processing chili harvests.
“Alhamdulillah, these programs have been very helpful for residents and have encouraged community independence, especially in the agricultural sector,” he said.
Through the ongoing synergy between the company, local government, and the community, the implementation of PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk’s TJSL programs is expected to continue running optimally and provide sustainable benefits for the people of South Bangka.
