PANGKALPINANG – The free healthcare program is one of PT Timah’s commitments to improving health quality in the company’s operational areas. PT Timah has served more than three thousand residents through the Mobile Health Unit from January to August 2024.
PT Timah's Mobile Health Unit is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program aimed at improving healthcare accessibility for the community, particularly in mining areas.
From January to August 2024, PT Timah’s Mobile Health Unit visited 31 locations across the Bangka Belitung Islands Province and the Riau Islands Province, serving 3,230 residents.
PT Timah operates three Mobile Health Units that travel to remote areas to provide free healthcare services. The services offered by the Mobile Health Unit include general health check-ups, treatments, and health education to encourage healthy living and disease prevention.
"This Mobile Health Unit program is our tangible contribution to supporting public health. It represents our concern for improving the quality of life of the community around our operational areas," said PT Timah’s Head of Corporate Communications, Anggi Siahaan.
Since its launch at the end of 2020, PT Timah’s Mobile Health Unit has served tens of thousands of people in the company’s operational areas.
In implementing this program, PT Timah also collaborates with local governments and various stakeholders to maximize the positive impact of the Mobile Health Unit. This cooperation aims to support national health programs, particularly in raising public awareness of the importance of health and reducing the incidence of diseases in hard-to-reach areas.
The presence of PT Timah’s Mobile Health Unit is always warmly welcomed by the community, with people flocking to each location to get health check-ups.
Many residents have expressed that they greatly benefit from these free health services, especially in areas where healthcare facilities are limited. With the Mobile Health Unit, people no longer need to travel long distances to receive medical check-ups or treatment.
As expressed by Yati, a resident of Paku Village in South Bangka, who was very satisfied with the healthcare services provided by PT Timah’s Mobile Health Unit.
"Alhamdulillah, the service is excellent. I hope this continues and that they return here, so we feel more encouraged to seek treatment," she said. (*)
