Free Healthcare Services for the Community, PT Timah’s Mobile Health Educates on Healthy Living

PANGKALPINANG – PT Timah’s Mobile Health is one of the company’s tangible efforts to support improving the quality of health for communities in mining areas.

Since its launch in late 2020, PT Timah’s Mobile Health free healthcare services have provided care to thousands of residents in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province and the Riau Islands Province.

PT Timah designs this mobile healthcare service to bring healthcare services closer to the community, provide education on healthy living, and offer disease prevention guidance.

Currently, PT Timah has three Mobile Health units stationed on Bangka Island, Belitung Island, and Karimun Regency in the Riau Islands Province, aimed at delivering healthcare services to the public.

Equipped with medical staff and medication, PT Timah’s Mobile Health provides free healthcare services, fundamental health services such as blood sugar and cholesterol checks, and doctor consultations. The mobile units also offer maternal and child healthcare services.

Each year, PT Timah’s Mobile Health visits dozens of locations across the company’s operational areas. In addition, it regularly educates communities on handling and preventing stunting.

The community has warmly welcomed PT Timah’s Mobile Health services, as it provides more accessible treatment. Moreover, the mobile units help alleviate the financial burden of medical care, as residents do not have to pay for treatments.

PT Timah collaborates with various parties, including the government and related institutions, to provide healthcare services through its Mobile Health units.

PT Timah’s Department Head of Corporate Communication, Anggi Siahaan, explained that the Mobile Health program not only offers healthcare services but also educates the community on how to improve their quality of life.

“The medical staff also provides health education on the importance of healthy living, hygiene, and disease prevention. By maintaining good health, the quality of life in the community can be improved,” he said.

Anggi added that healthcare is one of the basic needs that must be met, and PT Timah is consistently committed to delivering healthcare services to communities in need. (*)
