WEST BANGKA -- Hundreds of residents in West Bangka took advantage of free health check-up services during PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk’s Community Service Month, held as part of the company’s 50th Anniversary celebration in Mentok, West Bangka Regency, on Saturday (August 1, 2026).
The free medical services complemented a series of Community Service Month activities commemorating PT TIMAH’s 50th anniversary under the theme “Tin for the People” and were enthusiastically welcomed by the local community.
A total of 115 residents received free healthcare services from PT TIMAH at the event, which took place at Wisma Sriwijaya and Wisma Majapahit. Participants patiently waited in line for their turn to receive medical consultations and treatment.
One of the beneficiaries, Biah (56), a resident of Terabik Village, said this was the second time she had participated in PT TIMAH’s free healthcare program. This time, she came while accompanying her grandchild to the mass circumcision event.
“The first time was also here when I accompanied my child. Now I’m here again with my grandchild for the same kind of event, so I took the opportunity to get a health check-up as well,” Biah said.
She shared that she has been dealing with several health issues, including high blood sugar, stomach problems, and body aches. According to her, the services provided were extremely helpful.
“Alhamdulillah, the treatment and medication were excellent. The staff were very attentive and welcoming, and we were treated with great care. They even provided drinks and snacks for patients. I’m really happy with the service here,” she said.
Biah also expressed her hope that PT TIMAH’s free healthcare services could one day reach her hometown of Terabik, which is located quite far from healthcare facilities.
“It would be wonderful if these free health services could come to Terabik Village. We live quite far from medical facilities. If healthcare comes to us, we wouldn’t have to travel a long distance by motorcycle—we could simply walk. Thank you, PT TIMAH,” she added.
A similar sentiment was shared by Mayasari (25), a resident of Kampung Tanjung, who took advantage of the service to seek medical treatment for herself and her child, who had been suffering from flu-like symptoms.
“I had a headache, and my child had a cough and a cold. Since I was already here accompanying my child for the circumcision, I decided to get checked as well. This is my first time receiving PT TIMAH’s free healthcare service,” Mayasari said.
According to her, the presence of PT TIMAH’s Mobile Health Service reflects the company’s commitment to improving community health by providing free medical examinations and treatment.
“Everything was excellent. The staff were friendly, the medication was free, and they even gave us snacks. This is a wonderful example of caring for the community’s health. I hope PT TIMAH continues to improve and expands its Mobile Health Service program even further,” she said.
Meanwhile, Harti (44), a resident of Dusun VI Belo Laut, said she immediately took advantage of the free healthcare service because she had not been feeling well.
She also expressed her appreciation for PT TIMAH’s initiative in providing accessible healthcare to the community.
“My husband told me about the Mobile Health Service. Since I wasn’t feeling well, I decided to come for treatment. Thankfully, I arrived in time to receive medical care. Thank you, PT TIMAH,” she said.
