Free Health Screenings at PT TIMAH’s 50th Anniversary Community Service Program Draw Enthusiastic Response, 107 Jakarta Residents Participate

JAKARTA -- Access to health screenings is not always readily available to everyone. Recognizing this, PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk provided free health screening services as part of its 50th Anniversary Community Service Program, offering a direct benefit to residents in Jakarta.

A total of 107 residents took advantage of the free health screening services held at PT TIMAH’s Jakarta Representative Office on Thursday (August 6, 2026). The activity was part of the company’s 50th Anniversary Community Service Program, themed “Timah untuk Rakyat” (Timah for the People), which also featured a blood donation drive and mass circumcision program.

Through the program, members of the community not only received free health screenings but also had the opportunity to consult directly with medical professionals about their health conditions and ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

One of the beneficiaries, 49-year-old Jimin Abdul Azis, an online motorcycle taxi driver from Tanjung Duren, West Jakarta, said he took part in the health screening unexpectedly. While dropping off a passenger in the Graha Pertamina area, he learned about the free health services taking place and decided to take advantage of the opportunity.

Jimin said he had not undergone a comprehensive health checkup for a long time, even though he regularly takes medication to control his blood sugar levels.

“I usually take medication for my blood sugar, but it had been a long time since I had a checkup. When I was offered a health screening today, I was grateful for the opportunity, especially to have my blood sugar checked,” he said.

He said health services like this are particularly helpful for people, especially informal-sector workers, who may have limited time and financial resources to access medical checkups.

“The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. It was very helpful, especially for those of us who work on the road, such as drivers and online motorcycle taxi drivers,” he said.

He also expressed his appreciation to PT TIMAH for providing health services to the community.

“Happy 50th anniversary to PT TIMAH. I hope the company continues to grow, achieve greater success, and provide even more benefits to the community in the years ahead,” he said.

Similar benefits were felt by Erika, 43, a resident of Palmerah, West Jakarta. She took advantage of the free health screening to learn more about her health condition and consult with a doctor.

The screening showed that Erika had relatively high cholesterol levels. She also received guidance on the importance of maintaining a healthy diet, reducing her intake of fatty foods, and exercising regularly to maintain her health.

“Thankfully, the community has really benefited from social programs like this. If we had to get a health checkup on our own, we would have to pay for it. Since the service is free here, it really helps ease the financial burden,” she said.

Erika said this was not the first time she had benefited from PT TIMAH’s social programs. Two of her three children had previously participated in the company’s mass circumcision program.

She said the program had been very helpful to her family because, in addition to being free of charge, participants also received supplies and gift packages.

“My third child participated in PT TIMAH’s free circumcision program. My second child had also participated previously. Programs like this are very helpful in reducing the financial burden on families,” she said.

She hopes PT TIMAH will continue to provide social programs that deliver direct benefits to the community.

“I hope PT TIMAH continues to succeed, provide benefits to the community, contribute even more to the country, and continue to organize social programs like this,” she said. (*)
