Fostering Children's Talent and Creativity: PT Timah and TINS Gallery Organize Fashion Show and Coloring Competition

PANGKALPINANG – To nurture children's creativity, PT Timah and TINS Gallery and Fun Space organized a children's coloring competition and fashion show for participants from the entire city of Pangkalpinang.

The coloring and fashion show, held at the TINS Gallery courtyard and building on Sunday (6/10/2024), was part of the celebration of the 4th anniversary of TINS Gallery.

TINS Gallery, housed in a preserved Dutch heritage building, has been meticulously maintained with no structural changes, offering a heritage-inspired concept.

True to its name, TINS Gallery displays a variety of products, including items produced by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that have been PT Timah’s foster partners. These products range from pewter crafts, black coral, cual fabrics, shell crafts, Bangka's traditional foods, and more.

No wonder the participants and parents attending the coloring competition and fashion show were enthusiastic and impressed with the TINS Gallery concept.

As shared by Indra, a parent of a coloring competition participant, he visited TINS Gallery for the first time and was impressed by the various crafts available.

"In the future, I will bring my family to visit TINS Gallery again. I just learned that these products are from PT Timah's fostered MSMEs. I am particularly interested in the pewter crafts here," he said.

He also hopes that such events will be held regularly as they provide both entertainment and an educational opportunity to learn about Bangka Island, as the building itself holds historical significance.

"I hope these competitions are held annually and can offer more categories to further stimulate children's creativity. I wish PT Timah continued success and prosperity," Indra added.

Similarly, Mariska, the parent of M. Iqbal Alfahrizi (5), was amazed by the various crafts showcased at TINS Gallery. She plans to include the gallery as a destination to visit.

"Honestly, this is my first time at TINS Gallery. Previously, I was only familiar with TINS Resto, and I am astonished by the craftsmanship here, especially the tin-based crafts," she said.

In the future, she plans to recommend TINS Gallery as a must-visit destination when in Pangkalpinang.

"God willing, I will bring relatives and family from out of town to visit this amazing place. It will definitely be one of my recommended destinations," Mariska remarked.

Mariska was also grateful that her child won the fashion show, even though she hadn't expected it. She said the competition was lively and a great way to develop children's talents.

"I hope PT Timah continues to thrive and grow, and that they keep organizing such activities to provide a platform for children's creativity and talent development," Mariska concluded. (*)
