EAST BELITUNG - PT Timah Tbk has consistently supported the Gantung District's rotating trophy tournament for the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) since 12 years ago.
Chairman of the Committee for the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, Gantung District, Hazuan, said that the rounders tournament has been running for 12 years and PT Timah Tbk has always supported this tournament.
He said that previously this rounders tournament was held at the same time as PT Timah Tbk's anniversary on August 2, so there was a rotating trophy from PT Timah Tbk.
"So it has been continuously active for 12 years, on the occasion of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day and the Anniversary of PT Timah Tbk," said Hazuan.
According to him, in 2023 they will compete in baseball for the Elementary School (SD), Middle School (SMP), High School (SMA), or General categories.
This year, he said, the rounders tournament was attended by 40 teams from Gantung District.
"Primary schools have permanent trophies, junior high schools also have permanent trophies and general or high school permanent trophies, and PT Timah Tbk rotating trophies," he explained.
Hazuan explained that the rotation of the Rounders Cup takes place during August and is held every year. However, only for the Gantung District.
"It's not that no one wants it from other sub-districts, but we are only focused on Gantung, but the enthusiasm of the community is very high," he explained.
Therefore, they are grateful to PT Timah Tbk for always being committed to supporting the rotating cup round. He hopes that PT Timah Tbk will continue to support the event, because the event will be held regularly.
