Following Tug Boat BA 03, PT DAK Launches a Barge Ordered by PT Bukit Prima Bahari

PANGKALPINANG - PT DOK and Perkapalan Air Kantung or PT DAK continue to show their existence in producing various types of ships. This time PT DAK launched a barge which was an order from PT Bukit Prima Bahari.

The launch of the barge produced by a subsidiary of PT Timah was carried out at the PT DAK shipyard, Selindung, Pangkalpinang City, Bangka Belitung Islands, on Monday (15/07/2024).

In an effort to meet the needs of the maritime industry, PT DOK and Perkapalan Air Kantung (PT DAK) continue to demonstrate their existence in producing various types of ships.

The types of ships being made are increasingly varied, such as ambulance ships, patrol ships, roro ships, fishing boats and various other types of ships.

Plt. PT DAK President Director Bambang Wibisono, in his speech, said that today's launch activity was the result of cooperation between all parties.

Bambang explained that the barges produced were 300 feet barges with a maximum capacity of 8,500 metric tons. PT DAK has completed three ship sets ordered by TB Bukit Prima Bahari which have a 2X1100 Horse Power engine capability with bollard pull performance of up to 24 tons without nozzle cort.

"This barge is the third fleet that we have built at PT DAK, we have tested the pair of this barge, namely tug boat BA 03, last week. "So with today's launch we can support operational activities at Bukit Prima Bahari," he said.

On this occasion, he also appreciated the support from all parties who had worked together in making this barge.

"Thank you also to all employees who have worked well, so that we can complete this ship set well. "Furthermore, in the future we will continue to hone ourselves even better, to carry out future projects," said Bambang.

Meanwhile, Marine Inspector KSOP Pangkalbalam Captain Efran Dinata appreciated it
performance and quality of products produced by PT DAK.

"From 2010 until now I have been inspecting ships, both those produced at PT DAK, both PT Timah's ships and private ships, which are very good. Both the human resources are very qualified. "The work is fast and the quality is good," he praised.

He assessed that PT DAK was very good at repairing ships and building new ships.

"If I pay attention, both small ship buildings and large ship buildings are very good. "Both in terms of welding and construction, if we pay attention, we are no less competitive with large companies in Jakarta or Surabaya, for example," said Efran.

He also hopes that PT DAK can continue to be consistent and progress further in the future.

"Of course, PT DAK is highly recommended, because I am a Type A inspector, both local ships and Solas ships, if I have noticed it is very good.
For PT DAK, maintain and improve its quality, so that consumers feel satisfied. PT DAK, Fast, Good, Skilled," he said.

In line with Efran, Irzan Aziz, as Surveyor for the Indonesian Classification Bureau (BKI) Palembang, also appreciated the quality of work from PT DAK.

In the future, he hopes that PT DAK will continue to develop and be smoother in building and repairing ships.

"The work at PT DAK is good, the quality and coordination are also quite good. "In terms of quality, PT DAK is no less competitive with similar companies outside," he said. (*)
