BANGKA BARAT -- PT Timah Tbk provides education about fire fighting to students in Kindergarten and Early Childhood Education (PAUD) students at the Metallurgical Unit Muntok (Unmet), Tuesday (29/3/2022).
To support the education sector, PT Timah Tbk previously entered into an MoU with the school. Fire fighting education begins with socialization, introduction of fire extinguishers, and fire fighting practices. This activity was enthusiastically welcomed by students who practice firefighting. Not only students, parents and teachers were also seen enthusiastically participating in the firefighting training.
One of the students, David, who is sitting in class B1 of TK Al Fitriyah Approaching, was so enthusiastic after learning that he was not afraid of fire. "Exciting, happy, enthusiastic, not afraid of fire because water is sprayed," he said.
Similarly, Siva and AL Fitriyah Kindergarten/PAUD students also admitted that they were happy because they got new knowledge. "Be brave with fire. not afraid, put out with a sack filled with water," She explained.
Meanwhile, Kindergarten/PAUD teacher Al Fitriyah Approaching Muntok Intan Saqdiyah said, this activity is a school program for West Bangka Regency, which is part of introducing and educating children on how to deal with fires from an early age.
"This activity is a school program with the theme of work, children see and get to know firefighters and their vehicles. So the children get to know firsthand," said Intan.
"We thank to PT Timah, for helping kindergarten / PAUD learning. We feel PT Timah cares about children, the importance of preventing, motivating children and how to extinguish fires when a fire occurs," he continued.
Similliarly with the Integrated TK/PAUD teacher, Stania Eli Suryani welcomes firefighting education for PAUD Kindergarten children.
"This activity is very good, the children are quite happy. The children immediately practice how to extinguish a fire when there is a fire. Even though it is drizzling, the children are enthusiastic, cool, happy, ride the car until they are delivered to school," he said.
One of the parents of AL Fitriyah's Kindergarten/PAUD students, Desi, said that his party supports the firefighting lessons for kindergarten/PAUD children conducted by PT Timah. "This program is very good, educating children from an early age about fires, it is hoped that if there is a fire the children will not panic. This activity needs to be supported by all parties, of course," he said.
