Final Group Departs for Bangka Island: Hundreds of Travelers Enjoy a Safe Journey Home with PT Timah

JAKARTA – PT Timah Tbk officially sent off the final group of participants in the 2025 Mudik Gratis (Free Homecoming) program, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of SOEs. This last group, heading to Bangka Island in the Bangka Belitung Province, marks the successful conclusion of the company’s commitment to providing a safe and comfortable journey for homecoming travelers.

A total of 117 participants, consisting of members of the Bangka Student Association (Ikatan Mahasiswa Bangka - ISBA) from Bandung, Bogor, and Jakarta, joined this final departure of the Mudik Gratis Bersama PT Timah – Mudik Aman Sampai Tujuan program.

The send-off ceremony took place at PT Timah’s Jakarta Representative Office on Monday, March 24, 2025, and was led by PT Timah’s Division Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, Rahmat Taufik. Following their departure, the travelers continued their journey via land and sea to reach Bangka Belitung Province.

For the 2025 Mudik Gratis program, PT Timah partnered with ISBA, the Belitong Student and Family Association (Ikatan Pelajar Keluarga Belitong - IKPB), and the Riau Islands Student and Family Association (Keluarga Pelajar Mahasiswa Kepulauan Riau - KPMKR).

Participants Express Their Gratitude

Rangga, Chairman of ISBA Jakarta and a participant in the program expressed his excitement and appreciation for PT Timah’s support.

"We are incredibly grateful. This is a program that PT Timah has carried out almost every year, and we are delighted that ISBA Jaya is always involved in supporting this initiative," he said.

Rangga also praised the quality of the facilities provided by PT Timah.

"It's evident that PT Timah always strives for the best quality, from the transportation to the food provided, ensuring great comfort for us, the homecoming travelers," he added.

Similarly, Oktalina, Chairperson of ISBA Bandung, shared her appreciation for PT Timah’s Mudik Gratis program.

"As the coordinator and chairperson of ISBA Bandung, I’m very happy with this free homecoming program. As students, we truly benefit from it because traveling home on our own would cost a significant amount of money," she said.

Oktalina also expressed her hopes for the program’s future.

"I hope PT Timah continues to expand the quota for Mudik Gratis so that more Bangka students can benefit from this initiative. I also wish PT Timah continued success and prosperity," she added.

This year, as a member of the MIND ID Mining Industry Holding, PT Timah allocated 700 slots for travelers heading to various destinations, including Bangka Island: Pangkalpinang, Muntok, Toboali, and Belinyu, Belitung Island: Belitung and East Belitung, and Riau Islands: Tanjung Balai Karimun.

Departure points included Yogyakarta, Malang, Jakarta, Bandung, and Palembang, with the first departure scheduled for March 17, 2025.

Earlier, PT Timah had successfully transported hundreds of travelers, including March 18, 2025: Travelers heading to Riau Islands (KPMKR), March 19, 2025: IKPB travelers from Java to Belitung, March 21, 2025: ISBA travelers from Java to Bangka, and March 24, 2025: IKPB travelers from Sumatra and ISBA travelers from Jakarta and Bandung to Bangka

This program continues to reflect PT Timah’s commitment to community welfare, ensuring a safe and smooth journey for students and families returning home. (*)
