PANGKALPINANG -- The Timah Employees Association (IKT) celebrated its 27th anniversary with simplicity and a strong sense of togetherness. Carrying the theme “Solid, Synergy, Prosperity,” the event was held in a hybrid format from the IKT Secretariat at PT TIMAH’s Head Office in Pangkalpinang on Saturday (May 2, 2026).
The event was attended by IKT Chairman Riki Febriansyah along with the board members, former IKT chairpersons, and PT TIMAH’s Director of Human Resources, Ratih Mayasari.
Although held modestly, the 27th anniversary served as a moment of reflection on the long journey of the workers’ organization, which for nearly three decades has continued to grow alongside the company. The celebration also featured a traditional tumpeng cutting ceremony followed by a communal meal.
IKT Chairman Riki Febriansyah stated that this year’s anniversary marked the launch of two key programs aimed at strengthening services for members while also enhancing transparency.
The first program is the renewal of IKT membership cards. According to Riki, this is the first update since the cards were initially issued. The new membership cards are now integrated with e-money features, reflecting IKT’s efforts to keep up with technological advancements and modern service needs.
In addition, IKT launched the website WeAreIKT.com as a platform for communication and information transparency. Through this platform, members can access comprehensive organizational information and also submit suggestions, feedback, and complaints related to the work environment.
“At the age of 27, we hope IKT will continue to mature in managing the organization, become more solid and united in bringing together management, employees, and members across all operational areas,” said Riki.
He explained that the anniversary series was also held across all IKT working regions. Each region collaborated with local management to organize various activities tailored to their respective conditions, such as sports competitions, group prayers, and communal meals.
Meanwhile, PT TIMAH’s Director of Human Resources, Ratih Mayasari, emphasized the importance of a harmonious relationship between management and employee organizations to support the company’s sustainability.
Going forward, she hopes that IKT and company management will continue to work hand in hand, set aside unnecessary conflicts, and focus on joint efforts to help PT TIMAH achieve its established targets.
According to Ratih, the company’s progress will ultimately lead to improved welfare for all employees. Therefore, all IKT members are encouraged to view the company as a big family that must be cared for together.
“For all IKT members, let us consider the company as one family. We must support one another. Differences of opinion are normal, but what matters is reconciliation, because harmonious synergy is what will lead us to shared prosperity,” she said.
The 27th anniversary also brought an emotional atmosphere with the presence of senior figures who once led the organization.
IKT Chairman for the 2003–2005 period, Joni A. Rahman, expressed his emotion at being able to attend the celebration. He recalled the early days of IKT’s efforts to build synergy with company management in facing various challenges.
“Twenty-seven years ago, we designed how IKT could become a strategic partner to management. Today, I see that spirit is still alive. That makes me proud. We may not have focused much on material gain, but on ensuring the organization remains strong and continues to improve welfare,” he said.
According to Joni, from the beginning, IKT was built with the spirit of maintaining the organization’s dignity while also ensuring the company remains strong in facing industry dynamics.
“Sometimes we must be firm, but our hearts remain with the company. Happy anniversary to IKT. What we started back then has not been in vain,” he added.
A similar sentiment was expressed by IKT Chairman for the 2014–2017 period, Ali Samsuri. He noted that IKT’s journey has always been shaped by the dynamics and turbulence faced by the company, particularly non-technical external challenges.
“IKT has always been on the front line when the company faces challenges. Synergy with management is essential, because the challenges in the mining industry are not only technical but also highly complex social issues,” he said.
Ali hopes that all IKT members will continue to maintain solidarity, strengthen synergy with management, and stay focused on the organization’s strategic role in supporting the company’s sustainability.
“Our hope remains the same: IKT must stay solid, strengthen synergy, and achieve shared prosperity,” he stated.
The celebration of IKT’s 27th anniversary this year serves as a reminder that amid various industry challenges, the spirit of togetherness remains the main foundation. With strong internal solidarity, synergy with management, and a commitment to maintaining good organizational governance, IKT is expected to continue being a strategic partner in advancing PT TIMAH toward a more progressive and sustainable future.
