Festival Menuang Vol II to Be Held in Baskara Bakti Village, PT TIMAH Supports Coastal Tourism Promotion in Central Bangka

CENTRAL BANGKA -- Efforts to promote the tourism potential of Baskara Bakti Village, Namang District, Central Bangka Regency, will continue through the second edition of Festival Menuang, which is scheduled to take place from July 24–26, 2026, at Menuang Beach.

PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk is supporting Festival Menuang Vol II, organized by the Bangka Belitung Nusantara Alam Abadi Foundation (Nusa Babel) in collaboration with the Baskara Bakti Village Government.

Festival Menuang Vol II Chairman Nur Kholis said that this year's event marks the second edition following the successful inaugural festival last year, which was also supported by PT TIMAH. The festival is expected to further promote Menuang Beach as a post-mining reclamation tourism destination to a wider audience.

"Without events like this, many people would not know about Menuang Beach. Through this festival, we want to show that former mining areas can be transformed into attractive tourist destinations," Nur Kholis said.

During the three-day festival, a variety of community-centered activities will be held. The opening day will feature a religious tourism program with local Islamic study groups, while the main event on Sunday will include mangrove planting, a fun walk, a fishing competition, and a coloring contest for children.

He explained that PT TIMAH’s support is focused on ensuring the success of the festival’s main events, including the mangrove planting program and other festival-related activities.

According to Nur Kholis, Menuang Beach offers a unique attraction by combining a reclaimed former mining site with a continuously developing coastal ecosystem. Casuarina trees have been planted throughout the area to provide shade and enhance the beauty of the tourist destination, while mangrove forests established in collaboration with PT TIMAH continue to flourish along the coastline.

In addition, former tin mining pits that have naturally transformed into lake-like landscapes have become one of the site's most attractive features.

"When the tide is high, the water turns a beautiful shade of blue, creating a stunning view," he explained.

He believes Festival Menuang serves as an effective platform to showcase local tourism potential while changing public perceptions of post-mining areas.

Nur Kholis added that PT TIMAH’s social and reclamation programs in Baskara Bakti Village have brought significant benefits to the community. The company's support has contributed not only to social activities but also to tourism development and community empowerment.

"We have consistently received support for both social programs and reclamation efforts. Alhamdulillah, tourism development and mangrove planting initiatives have all been supported," he said.

He hopes the strong partnership between the community and PT TIMAH will continue, allowing village development, environmental conservation, and tourism initiatives to be carried out sustainably.

"We hope this synergy will continue. PT TIMAH's presence has brought many benefits to our village through social programs, reclamation activities, and tourism development that positively impacts the community," he concluded. (*)
