PANGKALPINANG – To support educational activities and improve the quality of human resources, PT Timah Tbk facilitates students to study practice or do internships at PT Timah Tbk.
Almost every year PT Timah Tbk facilitates vocational school students from the Bangka Belitung Islands Province and other provinces to study directly in the PT Timah Tbk work environment.
The internship program is one of PT Timah Tbk's efforts to support educational activities. Through direct learning, it is hoped that vocational school students can practice adapting to the world of work.
It's not surprising that PT Timah Tbk is one of the internship places that vocational school students are interested in. In 2023, there will be 164 students who will have internships or fieldwork practices at PT Timah Tbk.
Member of the mining industry holding MIND ID PT Timah Tbk is the largest mining company in Indonesia and is known as a BUMN which is the reason why students have a dream internship.
Bilqis is one of the students who interned at PT Timah Tbk from SMKN 2 Garut, West Java. Even though he has to cross provinces, he said it is not a problem to be able to do an internship at PT Timah Tbk.
"I have always dreamed of doing an internship at PT Timah Tbk. "It doesn't matter how far away it is because PT Timah Tbk dreams of being an internship place," said the student who is currently interning at PT Timah Tbk's Exploration Division.
He said, his school provided several company options for internships
such as in government and non-government. However, he was very interested and chose to do an internship or fieldwork practice at PT Timah Tbk.
"There are options from schools, so there are PT Timah and other PTs, but the choice is up to you too. "My need is that I am enthusiastic about wanting to do an internship at PT Timah Tbk," he said.
He said that he chose to do an internship at PT Timah Tbk because he heard stories from his seniors who gained new experience and knowledge by interning at PT Timah Tbk.
"I was able to learn a lot from interning at PT Timah Tbk compared to other places because I also heard from several seniors who had interned here that interning at PT Timah Tbk was fun and I got a lot of experience," he said.
According to him, he gained a lot of new knowledge during his internship at PT Timah Tbk.
"So far I have gained a lot of new knowledge that I had not learned at school. "Such as processing exploration data, learning about drilling scrap, land drilling, sea drilling and also practicing directly in the laboratory," he said.
Likewise, Putra Cahyadi is a student at SMKN 2 Koba who also carries out fieldwork practice at PT Timah Tbk.
"PT Timah Tbk is a well-known company, BUMN has its own pride if you intern at PT Timah Tbk. "I am very happy that I was able to achieve an internship at PT Timah Tbk because it was my dream and this is in line with the vocation at my school," he said.
According to Putra, he gained a lot of knowledge during his internship at PT Timah Tbk.
“I learned a lot in practice here that I didn't get at school. "Like inputting data into applications and using new applications that I never learned at school," he said.
According to him, during the internship process, he also received full guidance and support from PT Timah Tbk.
"Thank God, during my internship I felt very supported by PT Timah Tbk, I was guided from previously not knowing anything, and now I can use the necessary applications. "Apart from that, I feel that interns are not differentiated from employees," he said.
Putra said that during his internship at PT Timah Tbk, he had many impressions, such as getting an idea of ??the world of work.
“During my internship here it was really fun. It turned out that the work environment was not what I imagined, I had imagined that the world of work was tense, but it turned out that PT Timah was cool. I learned many new things while here. "My hope in the future is that PT Timah Tbk can always spread good knowledge in the world of education through this internship program," he said.
The teacher guiding intern students from SMKN 2 Koba, Ardian Sufandi, said that in 2023, his party would send nine people to intern at PT Timah Tbk. This is the first year that their school has sent its students to do internships at PT Timah Tbk.
"PT Timah Tbk is a state-owned company, so of course the knowledge obtained by children will be up to date with current developments in the company," he said.
According to him, PT Timah Tbk is very good at guiding its students. Apart from that, PT Timah Tbk Tbk is very welcoming of educational progress, especially in the Bangka Belitung area.
"I hope they can synchronize subjects at school and the world of work, they can learn a lot of related subjects such as public relations, personnel, company infrastructure, company petty cash, archives, and correspondence," he hoped. (*)
