EAST BELITUNG - To facilitate fishermen's access to boat moorings, PT Timah Tbk is supporting the construction of road infrastructure for the community in Mengkubang Village, Damar District, East Belitung.
This infrastructure development assistance was handed over by PT Timah Tbk to the Kamek Community Organization, Damar for the construction of community roads.
This road is important for the community because it connects Air Lanji to Tanjung Batu Burok, Mengkubang Village, and especially fishing communities that often use this road.
The chairman of the Kamek Ormas, Wartha Ade Pramana, said that initially they proposed to the relevant parties regarding the road access, but there has been no follow-up.
"Initially fishermen complained about the access road leading to their kater mooring being damaged to the village, but the village did not understand the mechanism," said Wartha Ade Pramana.
For this reason, his party initiated this which aims to facilitate access for fishermen to the community's boat moorings.
"The point is that fishermen are greatly helped by the road repairs and if the community organizations prioritize a sense of cooperation even though all the work has not been maximized," he explained.
Therefore, they appreciate PT Timah Tbk for caring about the ways of the fishing community.
