SOUTH BANGKA -- PT Timah Tbk's 49th Anniversary Health Week, held at Nek Aji Beach, Toboali, South Bangka Regency, was lively and colorful. Not only serving as a sports event, the activity also provided a platform for residents to showcase their creativity through unique costumes that captivated the attention of participants.
Since early morning, thousands of participants from various backgrounds began gathering at the starting point. The atmosphere grew even more lively as some residents appeared wearing self-designed costumes, ranging from modified traditional attire to superhero outfits.
One of the residents who wore an eye-catching costume at the event was Ria Wijaya and Rani, residents of Teladan, who arrived wearing Dutch Noni costumes and traditional Korean Habok attire complete with their umbrellas.
Despite wearing their dresses, they seemed enthusiastic about participating in the healthy walk and the series of events for PT Timah's 49th Anniversary Healthy Week, which carried the theme “For Red and White.”
Ria Wijaya stated that she intentionally prepared this costume for use in PT Timah Tbk's Health Week.
“I intentionally wore this costume because there's also a best costume contest, plus I wanted to stand out and show my enthusiasm for participating in PT Timah's event. I had been thinking about what costume to wear, and this is what I came up with,” she said.
According to him, the event held by PT Timah is always eagerly awaited by residents because it provides entertainment for the community and offers many prizes.
“Yes, I'm very enthusiastic. Many people participate because PT Rimah's event is always eagerly awaited, and there are many prizes to be won,” he said.
Similarly, Sigit, a resident of Rawabangun Toboali, who wore a Spiderman superhero costume, also attracted the attention of the participants. He was even invited by residents to take photos together and was surrounded by children.
“When I found out about this event, I decided not to sell my usual goods. I wore this costume because it's the right moment for both Indonesia's Independence Day and PT Timah's anniversary. I didn't expect so many people would ask for photos together and also dance together earlier,” he said.
PT Timah gave special recognition to participants who showed creativity by providing prizes for the best costumes.
Through the 49th Anniversary Health Week, PT Timah demonstrated that this event is not just about ceremonies but also about building community spirit with the public. The health walk and unique costume parade created moments of shared joy while strengthening the bond between the company and the local community. (*)
