PANGKALPINANG -- The Emergency Response Group (ERG) of PT Timah Tbk has completed its humanitarian mission in response to floods and landslides that struck several areas on the island of Sumatra, including West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh.
Since being deployed on December 3, 2025, the ERG team of PT Timah Tbk moved swiftly to support disaster response efforts by joining the ESDM Disaster Response Post and the BUMN Peduli Bencana command post located in Cempaka Hamlet, Teluk Bakung Village, Tanjung Pura Subdistrict, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra.
The ERG team carried out various emergency response actions, including providing free medical services for affected communities, trauma healing activities, distribution of food packages and other logistics, as well as cleaning efforts in evacuation areas.
In addition to North Sumatra, the ERG team of PT Timah Tbk also provided assistance to communities in Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra, and Aceh Tamiang Regency. The aid distributed was tailored to the specific needs of each community.
In Tanah Datar Regency, the ERG team provided clothing and other logistical supplies collected through donations from the extended PT Timah Tbk family. The team also delivered post-disaster cleanup equipment to support community recovery efforts.
Meanwhile, in Aceh Tamiang, the ERG team distributed food packages and five portable generator units complete with supporting equipment such as cables, power strips, battery water, and engine oil. These generators will be distributed to several priority locations in Aceh Tamiang that are still experiencing power outages.
The generator assistance is intended to support emergency lighting, charging of communication devices, operations at disaster response posts, and the daily needs of residents in areas where electricity service has not yet been restored.
Beyond meeting basic needs, the ERG team of PT Timah Tbk also paid attention to the spiritual well-being of affected communities. The team distributed worship supplies, including sarongs, prayer garments, prayer mats, blankets, and other essential items, to help residents continue their religious practices comfortably amid emergency conditions.
To support post-disaster recovery, the ERG team also provided various cleaning tools, including shovels, hoes, brooms, buckets, toilet brushes, dippers, floor brushes, and other supporting equipment based on field needs.
Ali Samsuri, Head of the ERG of PT Timah Tbk, said that the ERG team has completed its humanitarian mission in assisting flood and landslide disaster response efforts in several regions of Sumatra and has returned home.
“We extend our appreciation and gratitude to the ERG team that worked tirelessly to support disaster response efforts, and everything went well. Although the ERG team has been demobilized, our commitment to caring for disaster-affected communities will continue,” Ali said.
Ali added that the ERG of PT Timah Tbk will continue to monitor developments in the field and remain ready to provide further support if needed, in accordance with the company’s authority and capacity.
“We will continue to monitor the situation, and if assistance is needed again, the team will be ready to provide further support. We also pray that our brothers and sisters affected by the floods and landslides can recover soon. We pray as well that such disasters will not occur again elsewhere, especially in Bangka Belitung,” Ali concluded.
