Enhancing Students’ Creativity in Arts and Literature, PT TIMAH Supports FLS3N in West Bangka

BANGKA BARAT -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues its efforts to support education, this time by participating in the implementation of the National Student Arts and Literature Festival (FLS3N) at the Regional Education Office Branch IV of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

In this event, PT TIMAH facilitated the use of the Majapahit Building as the venue for the opening, closing, and various competition activities.

The FLS3N was officially opened by the Deputy Regent of West Bangka, H. Yus Derahman, marked by the striking of a gong on Tuesday (April 28, 2026), witnessed by the participants.

FLS3N is attended by high school, vocational school, and Islamic senior high school students from all districts in West Bangka Regency. They will showcase their best talents in arts and literature before advancing to the provincial level competition.

Deputy Regent H. Yus Derahman stated that FLS3N serves as a strategic platform to explore and develop artistic potential, creativity, and character building among the younger generation.

“Through FLS3N and this showcase, we encourage students to express themselves, appreciate the process, and build confidence. This is part of our effort to prepare a generation of West Bangka that is not only intelligent but also cultured, innovative, and competitive,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation to all organizers, teachers, and mentors for their dedication in guiding students, as well as to PT TIMAH for its support in ensuring the success of the event.

Meanwhile, FLS3N Secretary Zaidar stated that the Majapahit Building owned by PT TIMAH is a highly suitable venue for hosting the various competitions.

“In addition to the opening and closing ceremonies, the Majapahit Building also hosts traditional music competitions, creative dance, singing, and other categories,” he explained.

He also appreciated the ease provided by PT TIMAH in the use of the facility, which has frequently been used as a venue for FLS3N.

“So far, PT TIMAH has consistently provided support and procedural ease, allowing FLS3N activities to run smoothly,” he added.

A similar sentiment was expressed by the Head of the Regional Education Office Branch IV of West Bangka, Yulizar. He appreciated PT TIMAH’s contribution in supporting education, particularly through facilitating FLS3N activities.

“We are very grateful for PT TIMAH’s support in facilitating and helping ensure the success of FLS3N in West Bangka. We hope PT TIMAH will continue to contribute to the community, especially in the development of education for high school and vocational students,” he said.

According to him, collaboration between the business sector and education is essential in shaping a high-quality generation.

“We hope PT TIMAH continues to grow and provide benefits to the community, particularly in the field of education,” he concluded. (*)
