Bangka Barat -- PT Timah’s commitment to driving community economic growth is once again demonstrated through its support for the development of cooperatives as pillars of the people’s economy, one of which includes its backing of the Peltim Sejahtera Retired Employees Cooperative Services (KJPPS).
Cooperatives play a vital role in building community economic independence. PT Timah actively supports and nurtures the Peltim Sejahtera Retired Employees Cooperative Services (KJPPS), enabling it to remain sustainable to this day.
Since its establishment in 2019, KJPPS has continued to grow and has contributed to the welfare of its members, as reflected in its annual increase in net income (SHU) and the achievement of owning its own office. KJPPS also partners with PT Timah as a provider of goods and services.
KJPPS Chairman Fakhrizal Abubakar stated that the progress and advancement of KJPPS could not be separated from PT Timah’s role. According to him, the support from PT Timah has had a significant economic impact on both the members and the community.
“PT Timah plays the main role because it acts as the cooperative’s mentor. Second, the cooperative’s members are mostly retired PT Timah employees. Third, our business activities in goods and services rely on PT Timah. Without PT Timah, there would be no Peltim Sejahtera Retired Employees Cooperative,” he said.
Looking ahead, Fakhrizal hopes that PT Timah will continue to mentor them and collaborate on various company activities.
“We hope PT Timah continues to grow and keeps supporting KJPPS,” Fakhrizal added.
Similarly, KJPPS member and Chairman of the PT Timah Retirees Association (PPT), Suryadi Djabar Hamid, said that in addition to supporting KJPPS, PT Timah also cares about its retired employees.
“Whenever PT Timah retirees hold gatherings, PT Timah always supports the event. Thank you, PT Timah,” said Suryadi.
Meanwhile, Head of the Department of Cooperatives and SMEs, Aidi, praised PT Timah’s support in fostering and advancing KJPPS.
“We can see that KJPPS has grown rapidly. At just six years old, the cooperative has recorded remarkable net income. This income is expected to improve members’ welfare, which indicates a healthy and well-managed cooperative. Of course, this achievement is inseparable from PT Timah’s support,” he said.
