CENTRAL BANGKA - The Koba Basketball Lovers Community is holding the Regent Cup 2022 Basketball Ball Tournament which will be held from October 1 to December 11, 2022. This tournament is an effort to increase the potential of basketball athletes.
To make this event a success, PT Timah Tbk assisted in the form of sponsorship to the organizing committee. This assistance was handed over by the CSR team of PT Timah Tbk to the Chairperson of the Committee Fani Hendra Saputra at the Ex Basketball Court of the PT Kobatin Complex, Padang Mulya Village, Koba District, Central Bangka Regency, Tuesday (18/10/2022).
Fani said that this event was also an opportunity to find seeds for basketball athletes in Central Bangka. This basketball event was enthusiastically welcomed by basketball athletes in Central Bangka.
“This Regent Cup basketball tournament is the first time we have held this event, we hope that in the future this event can be carried out continuously. Where about 23 teams are competing in this event, which consists of several classes including U16 men and women, Senior Men, and also the Veteran class," said Fani.
He said that because many students participated in this championship, they held matches on weekends, namely Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. That way as not to interfere with the activities of students at school.
According to him, in addition to sports competitions, his party will also cooperate with MSME actors to enliven this activity, so that they can help market MSME products and can move the community's economy.
"We will also involve MSME friends to participate in enlivening this activity. We provide it for free for MSMEs, there are no levies or levies to MSMEs, so they can earn a living in this tournament activity," he said.
According to him, the public is also enthusiastic to see this match because many visitors and supporters come to watch the match of their flagship team.
"We hope that with this assistance, PT Timah can also pay attention to the seeds of basketball athletes in particular so that they can be looked at again and developed again. In addition, to continue to nurture the existing generations, so that they can continue to make achievements, "said Fani.
