Encourage the Acceleration of Mineral Benchmark Prices, Commission XII of the House of Representatives Conducts a Specific Visit to PT TIMAH Tbk

PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH Tbk received a specific visit from Commission XII of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) regarding tin governance and Mineral Benchmark Prices, held at Griya Timah Pangkalpinang on Thursday (February 12, 2026).

The visit was led by the Chairman of Commission XII DPR RI, Bambang Patijaya, along with members of Commission XII. They were directly welcomed by the Deputy President Director of PT TIMAH Tbk, Harry Budi Sidharta. Also in attendance were the Director of Mineral Business Development at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Cecep Mochammad Yasin, and the Chairman of the Indonesian Tin Exporters Association, Harwendro.

On this occasion, Deputy President Director of PT TIMAH Tbk Harry Budi Sidharta delivered a presentation on the “Tin for the People” concept that will be promoted by PT TIMAH, the company’s transformation initiatives, its work plans, and the support needed from Commission XII DPR RI.

Bambang Patijaya stated that the visit was part of Commission XII’s oversight function and aimed at accelerating the establishment of the Mineral Benchmark Price (HPM) for tin.

“This visit is part of the oversight function of Commission XII DPR RI, while also encouraging the acceleration of the formulation of the Mineral Benchmark Price (HPM) as part of creating healthy and fair tin governance. One of the most important aspects is establishing clear rules of the game, including the implementation of the HPM,” Bambang Patijaya said.

Bambang explained that the HPM for tin commodities will serve as a shared reference for tin mining business players, both PT TIMAH Tbk as a state-owned enterprise and private mining companies, so that there will no longer be price disparities.

“We have emphasized to the Director of Mineral Business Development at the Ministry of ESDM to immediately finalize the HPM. In fact, this has already been discussed in several previous meetings, using a mixed method approach to formulate a price that reflects a sense of fairness and also complies with regulatory aspects,” he said.

He added that several variables are considered in determining the Mineral Benchmark Price, including investment costs, fixed costs, variable costs, and fuel costs.

“The HPM is part of improving tin governance. With this, we hope there will be no price disparities, so everyone will have equal opportunities to obtain tin prices, and state-owned enterprises will also have greater certainty in supply availability,” he said.

The Director of Mineral Business Development at the Ministry of ESDM, Cecep Mochammad Yasin, also explained the proposed approach for the Mining Service Business Fee Rate (NIUJP), which is currently under discussion and will soon be established.

Meanwhile, Deputy President Director of PT TIMAH Tbk Harry Budi Sidharta stated that PT TIMAH Tbk fully supports Commission XII DPR RI’s efforts to accelerate the determination of the Mineral Benchmark Price (HPM) for tin.

“This specific visit is related to tin, and coincidentally one of the ongoing agendas in the DPR is the discussion of the Mineral Benchmark Price. PT TIMAH Tbk supports this initiative so that there are clear rules regarding pricing, allowing both the company and the community to mutually monitor and ensure fairness,” he said.

Under the Mineral Benchmark Price (HPM) concept, mining service compensation will be formulated based on global tin prices. This means that when global tin prices increase, mining service compensation will also adjust and rise. Conversely, when global tin prices decline, compensation will decrease accordingly.

“With the same reference point, business entities such as PT TIMAH Tbk and other private companies will have a clear basis for determining mining service compensation,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation for the support of Commission XII DPR RI in improving national tin governance, including support for PT TIMAH Tbk. (*)
