WEST BANGKA -- Two Women's Groups assisted by PT Timah, namely the Limau Jaya Women's Group from Air Limau Village and the Perkasa Women's Group from Belo Laut Village, have felt the benefits of PT Timah's Charming Culture program.
The Environmentally Minded Merawang Arabian Chicken Cultivation Program (Culture Charming) is PT Timah's Social Innovation involving and empowering community groups aimed at increasing community food security.
Apart from that, PT Timah Tbk's Charming Culture program aims to improve the welfare of housewives who have no income and economically empower women's groups.
This was conveyed by two groups of women in the Muntok Metallurgical Unit Gold Proper presentation which was assessed directly by the Proper Council on Wednesday (15/11/2023).
Chairperson of the Limau Jaya Women's Group, Supiawati, said that she and the group members felt many benefits from PT Timah's Charming Culture Program.
"While studying PT Timah's Charming Culture program, we got a lot of benefits. We learned about chicken cultivation and we already had additional income. Previously we were just ordinary housewives, we had no income, and we only depended on our husbands' income. Since this program has existed, we are housewives. additional income to prosper our family," she said.
Similarly, the Chair of the Perkasa Women's Group, Belo Laut Kamora, said that the knowledge gained from the Charming Culture program could increase her family's income.
"This Charming Culture Program is very good. Hopefully, we can be independent, help our husbands, increase our income, gain knowledge, raise chickens, grow crops it's great," she said.
Likewise, Ega Susanti, a member of the Perkasa Women's Group in Belo Laut Village, hopes that PT Timah Tbk can create a new program to empower the community.
"This Charming Culture program is very good for us housewives who have no income. Hopefully, in the future PT Timah Tbk can provide programs other than Charming Culture," she said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Air Limau Village, Mexi Diansah, admitted that he was happy that PT Timah Tbk's Charming Culture program could have a positive impact on the economy of his residents. He hopes that residents who take part in the program can implement it with other residents.
"We hope that residents who receive this program can maintain the PT Timah program, teach or implement it with other residents. The Village Government supports it by providing facilities and infrastructure for this Charming Culture program," hopes Mexi. (*)
