EAST BELITUNG - To support the empowerment of the elderly group, PT Timah Tbk provides support to the Ceria Elderly Gymnastics community in East Belitung Regency.
The coordinator of the Elderly Ceria Gymnastics, Sariyati, said that at first there were only 20 members of the elderly gymnastics, but as time went on, the numbers increased even from other villages.
Although, under the auspices of Lalang Village, there are also residents from other villages such as Padang, Kampung Baru, Kurnia Jaya, and Mekar Jaya.
"There are around 120 to 150 members. So until now, there are around 100 active people coming every week," said Sariyati.
According to her, the community was formed on March 29, 2015, and still exists today. They routinely carry out elderly gymnastics every Sunday in the Taruna field
So far, no state-owned company has provided assistance to their gymnastics group, and PT Timah Tbk is the first to assist with their activities.
"Alhamdulillah, we are happy to be assisted by PT Timah Tbk, so far our elderly are independent and self-help," she said.
Therefore, they appreciate the assistance PT Timah Tbk has given them.
In fact, they were surprised to get the help. She hopes that PT Timah Tbk will continue to progress and develop.
"It turned out that it was unexpected that PT Timah Tbk cared about us and was looking at us, so we got help and we were happy," she explained.
She also invited other elderly people to join, because the elderly in East Belitung have an exercise community to be healthy together.
