Employees of PT Bukit Asam Impressed with the Indonesian Tin Museum and PPS in Kampoeng Water Reclamation of Jangkang

PANGKALPINANG -- Dozens of employees of PT Bukit Asam Holding MIND ID members visited PT Timah Tbk in Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Wednesday (21/9/2022).

PT Timah Tbk explained about the company's business processes implemented by PT Timah Tbk. The discussion that took place in the Main Meeting Room of PT Timah Tbk became an opportunity to share about mining patterns, environmental management and socio-economic communities in the mining area of ??PT Timah Tbk.

During this visit, they also visited the Indonesian Tin Museum and the Kampoeng Reclamation of the Anchors Water. They seemed impressed with the two places they visited.

Vice President of Coal Handling and Transportation, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, Togar B. Simatupang said that this visit could increase their insight into PT Timah Tbk's business processes including the history of Indonesian Tin mining.

“This is the first time for us to visit PT Timah Tbk, with an agenda like this. The visit to the Timah Museum had many benefits, where we got to know what the history of PT Timah looks like from time immemorial," he said.

Togar even admitted that he was amazed by one of the mining methods carried out by PT Timah at Offshore using the Bucket Wheel Dredge (BWD).

"Of course, innovations like this can provide insight for us about the mining technology carried out by PT Timah Tbk. and this provides inspiration for visitors," he said.

The group was even more impressed when they saw firsthand the Kampoeng Water Reclamation of Jangkang, especially when they saw the Animal Rescue Center managed by PT Timah Tbk together with the ALOBI Foundation which was carried out on post-mining land.

“Again we get new lessons and new experiences. One of the things that is very interesting for us is the existence of an Animal Rescue Center on this reclaimed land," he said.

He considered this program noble because it is related to saving and releasing animals back into their natural environment. Because, with a program like this, it certainly makes the environment more awake.

In addition, efforts to save these animals also help preserve and protect protected animals. He hopes that later they can replicate the reclamation carried out by PT Timah Tbk, especially in carrying out animal rescue.

“And what is certain is that PT Timah is the only BUMN that has this Animal Rescue Center. And again, this provides inspiration for us, it is exemplary and of course it must be continued and improved," he said.
