KARIMUN -- PT Timah Tbk will send eight archery athletes in the Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) to V Riau Islands Province which will be held in Bintan Regency in November.
The eight archery athletes trained by Baporseni PT Timah Tbk will represent the Indonesian Archery Association (Perpani) Karimun Regency. These eight athletes consist of children and adults.
As is known, archery is one of the sports that will be competed in the 5th Porprov in Riau Archipelago Province.
Head of Perpani Karimun Hendi said that PT Timah's sculpture athletes were very good and had high flying hours.
"Before Covid-19 hit, I saw that many archery athletes from PT Timah often participated in archery events both locally and outside the Riau Islands and that was very good," he said.
He said that after the selection some time ago there were eight people who passed to take part in the Porprov representing Karimun Regency.
"In addition, I see that the archery facilities and infrastructure at PT Timah are adequate and in accordance with standards," he said.
He hopes that the archery athlete fostered by Baporseni PT Timah Tbk can make his best achievements. In addition, this can also trigger other archery athletes to be more enthusiastic in practicing.
Hendi also hopes that with the guidance from PT Timah Tbk, new athletes will emerge, especially now that archery competitions are increasingly being held.
"The existence of archery athletes assisted by the Timah Bapor who qualify for this porprov will later trigger other members to be enthusiastic about practicing. As well as raise new athletes who have talents in archery," he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Timah Archery Club (TAC) Kundur Febri Sumantri was very happy and supported his members being able to pass the selection in yesterday's selection.
"Hopefully at the Porprov event later TAC Kundur can achieve the medal target and make Karimun Regency and PT Timah Tbk proud," he said.*
