WEST BANGKA -- For the past three years, PT Timah Tbk has been supporting Garbage Bank activities in Air Limau Village, Muntok District, West Bangka Regency, as an effort to educate the community on waste management.
Communities can exchange their waste at the waste bank, so that waste can have economic value.
In commemoration of National Waste Day 2023, PT Timah Tbk together with the Government of Air Limau Village held a Seminar on National Waste Care Day (HPSN) with the theme 'Complete Waste Management for Community Welfare', Saturday (25/2/2023).
Head of Water Limau Mexidiansah Village said the HPSN 2023 activity aims to educate the public and waste bank customers to care about the environment. His party cooperates with PT Timah which is considered committed to supporting the Garbage Bank activities in Air Limau Village.
"For the past three years, we have been supported by PT Timah. This activity. This is very, very positive for the Garbage Bank because without collaboration it will not be able to maximize the activities that have been built. The waste problem is a shared responsibility. We thank and appreciate PT Tin," said Mexi.
Customers of the Jahara Garbage Bank as well as residents admit that there are many benefits to being a customer of the Garbage Bank besides the economic value. His party also received knowledge provided by PT Timah through the Amoi Village program.
"There are many benefits as long as we are customers of the Garbage Bank besides being able to manage waste properly. We get economic value, we can also get door prizes from the Garbage Savings Book," he said.
Through the Amoi Village program, he said, they also received training, in the form of providing catfish, duck, and aquaponic seeds along with their facilities and infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Field Agricultural Extension Officer at the West Bangka Agriculture and Fisheries Service, Yulizar said that PT Timah Tbk played a significant role in supporting the activities of the Agriculture and Fisheries Service.
"PT Timah's participation in the community is quite a lot here, one of which is the CSR program. In the field of agriculture and animal husbandry, PT Timah is also supported. In addition to the social sector, PT Timah Tbk also helped launch the Agro-tourism village," he stated.
